When the mutant superhero Iceman came out last month - thanks to a one-two punch of his prying telepathic teammate and a time-travel visit from his younger self - he immediately became the most prominent gay comic book character. But his revelation was far from the only story line involving gay, lesbian and transgender characters in the fast-evolving world of comic-book narratives.
In October, Alysia Yeoh, a transgender friend of Batgirl, and her girlfriend Jo were married in a simple ceremony unmarred by super-villainy; Peter Parker, perhaps better known as Spider-Man, attended the wedding of Max Modell, his scientific mentor and gay colleague; and Wiccan and Hulkling, a superpowered gay couple, joined a division of the Avengers along with Hawkeye and Songbird. In August, Wonder Woman officiated a lesbian wedding, and since June, fans have been treated to the monthly adventures of Midnighter, who is out about his heroic identity and his sexual orientation. That month also saw the first issue of "Stripling Warrior," which features superheroes that are gay and lesbian - and Mormon.
"The industry is catching on pretty quickly to the fact that diversity can improve sales of comics," Josh Siegel, founder of Geeks Out, wrote in an email. "So publishers are evolving their lines of books to showcase queer characters in a number of interesting ways."

Why I only buy older comics these days...
Absolutely. I always found the introduction of serious sexual themes into a genre that spotlights super-beings who fly around in garishly-colored undergarments to just be innately ludicrous and innately pathetic. And that’s even before they started going all homo.

This ain’t the country my daddy fought to save. We’re more concerned about making the poofers happy than we are the men and women who serve us everyday. But even that’s been polluted by the Marxists.
Corrupting children is evil!
These days the typical comic book fan is a 40 year old geek.
Oh, BS. Comic sales have been falling for years and years...higher prices and socialism have driven the old collectors' out. The publishers are based in NY and LA...they base their stories on the world they see outside their window, not reality.
Fun experiment...go into a comic shop, and ask the clerk if he can recommend ANY comic without queers. Bet it takes him a while.
2000? That was YESTERDAY. You are a regular youg'un.
Lol. A mere child, compared to me.

Merry Christmas, "son."
Thanks you!
This began with Marvel in the eighties and quickly spread to DC. The SJW’s over ran comics a long time ago.
I believe this has been instrumental in the decline in comic industry as a whole. They have deliberately alienated their conservative audience.
I wonder what plans the Gaystapo have to attempt to destroy them.
