But this time, she said, "Yes, it's time!"...
Wow, that was a genuine shocker! After some table top instruction on basic handling, safety, and various "how to" mechanics, off we went.
At the range, it was her turn to be shocked. She really enjoyed it and was quite good at it after she finally got the hang of it!
Two days later, I wanted to head to the local gun store and check something out I was looking for and asked her if she wanted to go along. The answer is always, "No!". We always joke that it is like her asking me if I want to go along when she looks for shoes?
But not this time. She wanted to go along and maybe even look at some pistols. My selection in the safe is not really her cup of tea because she has some physical limitations I don't need to deal with.
Well, lo and behold, we got to the store and she was looking at all the offerings and found one she really liked and could easily handle. I said maybe we should talk and think about it a bit ( I don't usually make quick decisions on these matters). She said, Well then, why don't you just buy it for me for Christmas now?"
Well, what can one say to an request like that!?
Needless to say, Santa was very good to her this year. We will head out next week for some further instruction and practice.
Don't you just love a wonderful Christmas story?
What did She Choose?
