The head and several leaders of a major Syrian rebel group, Jaysh al-Islam, have been killed in an air strike in a suburb of Damascus, reports say.

Founder Zahroun Alloush was among those killed when rockets hit a meeting place, rebels and activists said.

Reuters news agency quoted rebel sources as saying the strikes were carried out by Russian planes, though this had not been confirmed.......

“A certain poster who has three capital letters for a handle will be calling shortly with very large BS signs and large anti-Putin placards ... steel yourself”

I think Soros gave the EuromaidanPR office Christmas Day off.

“God Bless the man and women who risk their lifves to bring the intelligence and the Russians who act on it”

The Russians don’t have to send an attack request through thirteen level of chain of command, none of whom want to take responsibility for it if things go wrong, then when they do get the order, it comes with 5 page of warnings of what they can’t do.

The Russians seem to be operating under the “If You See it, KILL IT!” ROE.

Israel is as anti-Assad as the Saudis in this situation.

Maybe, between Russia, France, the soddies and Israel, they'll completely destroy Syria. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Russia killed Zahran Alloush the leader of Jaysh al-Islam which is basically diet isis ,

Alloush gave a speech in 2013 praising Bin Laden and his group is a close ally of nusra the al Qaeda front in syria , so good riddance

True but Vlad probably picked our Christmas as a special day for his activities while we are distracted.

Any group with al-Islam in its name is fair game as far as I’m concerned. The US backs it? You mean Obama backs it.

For what it’s worth, the literal translation of “Jaysh al-Islam” is “The Army of Islam”. They don’t sound like the people we should be backing.

What’s in a name? A skunk by any other name would smell as much. I’ll thank Vlad until I have a convincing reason to shed a tear for Jaysg-AlIslam.
