If this and what’s going on in Ramadi are true, it could only be so b/c the Iraq government is getting a lot of help from intel & spec ops forces from the USA & perhaps other Western nations, and likely Iranian ragheads. No way the SandMonkeys are doing it on their own.

Possibly help from Russia and Iran via the joint intelligence center set up in Baghdad ... Face it, if we had wanted these guys dead we’d have taken them out years ago

Are you saying that the unrest in the Middle East is being kept in continuous ferment by the machinations of the Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut?

Why is that so easy to believe? It certainly SOUNDS wholly plausible. Not quite doing enough to go after ISIS tooth and nail, not doing much about the Iranian Quds Force, talk about sanctions that are enforced only sporadically, deals that only inflame passions while nothing is done to resolve very real problems on the ground, the list goes on and on.

Recall that during the height of the Afghan and Iraq wars under GWB, al-Qaeda was losing so many high-level officials that they were advertising to employ new ones.

Even so, al-Qaeda seems to be a still-viable terrorist organization. They have hundreds of millions of supporters.

I imagine ISIS is beginning to talk about moving their Caliphate to safer places in the world.

They seem to be increasingly losing ground & leaders in Iraq/Syria. They are surrounded by powerful enemies in an area with few places to hide. Bombs have made life miserable above ground & travel suicidal. Their lucrative sources of income in the area are drying up.

So where will they go?

Yemen or the Sinai, maybe. Neither is a good place to make the payroll.

Libya is a better place for them. Plenty of oil money. Close proximity to Europe & a threat to Med shipping. Libya is a good spot to threaten the whole of North Africa with lots of sunni muslims to enlist. Thanks to Obama/Clinton, Libya is ripe for an ISIS picking.

Meanwhile the Syrian army commandos booby-trapped the place where a meeting was going to be held by a group of ‘Freedom Fighter’ leaders - 17 killed. Seems to be open season on various leaders of disparate groups - including a handful of Iranian generals.
