Conservatism, as you describe it, is merely reactionary: sticking to things because they’re tried and true. That’s what Marx and Engels hoped the proles would think: that conservatives/bourgeoisie just wanted to keep things they way they are because they benefit from them. If you read Locke you’ll know conservatism is much more than that.

Rubio’s attack on Cruz, which you’re parroting, is a complete lie. It seems arguing with Trump supporters about H1B, amnesty, Corker, TPA is a complete waste of time. However, I will say this, you have a bigger problem than I do even if everything you think about those are true.

Cruz was saying what he’s always said about state’s rights. To claim otherwise is absolutely ridiculous. And, again, if your inference were true, you have a bigger problem than I do.

I am very familiar with Romans 13. We should be the government, and are not, and are guilty because we don’t take the government back. Trump isn’t going to return the government to the people. He’s not even advocating that and has no idea how to do it or what that means. Voting for the lesser of two evils is a direct violation of Romans 13.

First, Cruz has consistently supported increased H1Bs, and it has nothing to do with Rubio. I can get the quotes if you like. In fact, he had to go into consultation with Sessions, and he came out with a ‘new plan’ that Sessions helped him put together, AND it repudiates his old position. I’m not blind. I read his amendments during the immigration reform debate, and I argued on this forum that he was only offering a poison pill, and then just a few months ago he cut my legs out from under me when he recommitted to increased H1Bs while citing research showing that such visas enhanced and increased American jobs.

Conservatism as I described it is NOT reactionary, but is instead thoughtful and able to move forward. It preserves that which is truly valuable and adapts it to a changing culture, rather than allowing conservatism to be some ‘living constitution’ type of changeable philosophy that we manipulate to do what we want it to do.

I don’t care what any state’s righter says about either gay marriage or abortion. NO STATE should be able to impose those hurtful behaviors, either, so Cruz is simply off base on their being a state’s rights issue. The first is saying it’s up to a state to decide if it wants to permit death and disease, and the other is saying a state can permit murder. It’s just a silly proposition to begin with.

And at this point, your work for Cruz IS in the best understanding of Romans 13. You are involved. That’s good.

But, if your guy loses, you don’t get to abdicate. Nor is saying “I’m not participating.” a form of participating. It is a cop out.
