Cruz: The GOP race will be over by March
Politico ^ | 12/31/15 | K.Gluek

Posted on 12/31/2015 9:55:28 AM PST by VinL

Ted Cruz took a victory lap Thursday following a strong fundraising report, repeatedly telling supporters on a phone call that he expects the race to be over by March, but only after getting through an increasingly nasty run-up to the Iowa caucuses.

The political attacks, he warned, will get "uglier and uglier and uglier."

"Come the month of January," he said, “we ain’t seen nothing yet."

Cruz observed at several points during the call that he expects that the race will finish well before the end of the primary season in June, saying "there’s a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."

The call came one day after the Texas senator's campaign announced he had raised around $20 million in the last three months of the year, an impressive haul that adds to his momentum in Iowa, where he leads in recent polls.

"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election," he said. "To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

Well, yes, but you actually have to know what you are doing as well...

And since Trump’s solution to pretty much everything is an ultraliberal, big government statist agenda, I hope he fails.

Yeah, unhuh, like you are going to trust Cruz like Cruz trusted McConnell against his own advisers and then made up “Excuses” for the lies. Cruz has been absent from a third of the votes this term, so I’d say he is AWOL from his duties to the people of Texas. Cruz has been, and still is, tied to the free trade idea that loses American jobs but more importantly costs American SOVEREIGNTY. He has tried to flip flop on his support for a massive increase in H1B Visas for foreign workers to take American jobs. He pretends to support a crackdown on illegal immigration when in fact he supports amnesty and tries to hide it and thinks we will swallow his “good feelings” for going to the border and handing out Teddy Bears to illegal kids!. He pretends to like and respect Trump, but reveals in a secret meeting with his money men that it’s all just and act, part of his campaign game. He insults Trump and Carson by asking if they can be trusted with their finger on the button.
Cruz is just another lawyer-politician, tied to Heidi who has been sending out sobbing, worried letters trying to raise money at the eleventh hour for her husband’s campaign. He is tied to the cheap labor express hand and foot AND through his wife.
Sorry, but I’ll take a chance on a man who has proven success in his endeavors and has the toughness and good judgement we need to lead the nation at this troubled time.
I’ve had enough of lawyer-politicians looking to get rich on my dime.

I would be, yes, provided the intellect for which it stands is not the self-promoting kind and guided, instead, by reason and humility.

It’s what keeps me from liking Trump. Smarts? Yes. Reason? Perhaps. Humility? Uh...

His suits? You never saw Reagan’s brown suit? And yet I never heard anyone, especially a man, go off about his fashion sense.

You don’t want to get me started on Trump’s face. I could go for days.

Happy New Years to you!

Trump or Cruz, the Uniparty will simply not allow either one to access the Presidency.

Here is why:

http://www.usmessageboard.com/threads/bill-bennett-they-will-kill-trump-before-they-let-him-be-a-president.457721/

Whether or not Bill Bennett really did author this, it is simply the best written articulation I have read thus far, on where we are as a nation.

I was going to paste the whole thing, which is not long, but I wasn’t sure if it was allowed. So I just posted the URL.
It is a powerful read.

The article title is misleading, but what should we expect from Polutico? He very clearly said it was a possibility but he didn't say it WILL be over.

And it was an awesome call too. I was on it and was excited and jazzed by what I heard although it sure sounded like his voice was going a little (no wonder!)

Did you see the thread yesterday that doubted Ted was a Christian and demanded he prove it?

He bought failing businesses at a discount and took them to bankruptcy to rehab them, then turn them around and sold them at a profit. Part of the reason why he’s so successful.

I get the anger of the Trump supporter, but I do not understand their vitriol against Cruz. It is beyond belief

“What’s ugly about the truth? Cruz is ill equipped to take on the presidency. He doesn’t have the know how to deal with the real world or even the international world, let alone any background in economics, finance, negotiating, and on and on.”

Funny how RINO’s and Dems will say stuff like that, but think Oblowyah is good and qualified.

If they were to be honest, they would have to admit that a better Prez that Oblowyah by throwing a dart at a phone book.

" let alone any background in economics, finance, negotiating, and on and on."

LOL, since when is any of that required for the presidency?

It isn't, of course. If your mesmerizer Trump were a high-wire acrobat, you'd be saying Cruz can't win because he hasn't walked a wire in the air.

The qualities you mentioned are fine for a real estate guy, so Trump can go back to New York and see if he can avoid another bankruptcy.

He belongs nowhere near the White House, nor will he get there.

So this is now the latest attack, that The Donald is Everyman and the rest of us do not get it? It is the same argument that Clinton made against Bush 1 and the same one Obama made against McCain/Romney. Come on Freepers, we have to be smarter than this. Donald Trump is a Cult of Personality candidate.

"Look at what Trump has built. Those things are PROOF of his capabilities"

Yeah, whatever. I heard the same line of BS about Romney. He's an executive and a businessman, he's what the country needs!

Trump builds skyscrapers and hotels. That's all. He doesn't have a clue about the Constitution or about the principles of liberty and small government.

You think he would build me a shed, though?

I guess four bankruptcies is “proven success”?

Cruz has a conservative record.

Trump voted for Obama.
Trump supported Hillary Clinton. Called her a good Secratary of State.

Trump is a populist.
In Trumps own words “he only votes for winners” he does not vote his convictions because outside of himself he has no convictions.

Trump was for gun control.
Trump was pro Union
Trump has sent lots and lots of his business overseas but now wants to make “America great again”

Trump is an intellectual light weight and the democrats will mop the floor with him.

Defend Trump as a conservative.
He has a past show us his credentials.

I think you are democrat. Funny you just signed up here a few months ago.
Every election cycle you guys get on here and try to discourage conservatives.
If you are not a democrat/commie you are a fool for believing Trump is a conservative.

If you are a Christian the reasons to stay away from Trump grows tremendously.
