My prayers are with that Sheriff.

People on this board should be very careful before deciding that the Bundy’s are necessarily wrong, or the ones who have an ax to grind.

IMHO, what the Federal government is doing to the two ranchers is wrong.

First of all, the ranchers in question were not trying to destroy things when they set the fires. They were practicing good land management for the benefit of their grazing rights.

In one instance as a back fire to an approaching wild fire, and in the second to remove vegetation that was invasive to their grazing as I understand it. It just happened to be on leased federal ground. People do exactly the same thing all the time on private ground of their own.

Second, also as I understand, these two men served their sentences, but then, I believe a federal prosecutor pushed a judge to give them more, and so now they are trying to pick them up and send them away...for doing something that anyone knows in this country should not be a rime in the first place.

Sounds an awful lot like they did to the farmers in the Klamath Basin back in 2001...except then, it was the Sucker Fish as the tool.

I cannot say that what Bundy’s sons did was best...but I can say that people in this part of the country are sick and tired and full up of an ever encroaching federal government that creates reasons to go after anyone who will not toe their line.

I took the same oath as many on this forum to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

I have learned over the past 20 years at places like Jarbidge, NV and Klamath, OR, that that does not necessarily mean that someone rising up against encroachment of their rights is the enemy, nay, more likely the ones encroaching those rights.

That same oath indicates that we would bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution...and oft times that clause right there, when faithfully followed, lets us know who is on what side of the constitutional line.

So, before folks respond by throwing these people out with the wash...they should get all the facts and then seriously consider their oaths. If they do not, they could easily be led to fight against the very people they should be helping

Our founders did not want to rebel against England. They wanted to be good “subjects.” But came a time when the encroachments on their rights were just too much...and so they rose up.

Out here in the west, as you know, my friend, the encroachments have been long standing and ever and ever more burdensome and more and more against the constitution.

I pray God’s wisdom to be with particularly the people trying to stand up against encroachments, and also with that Sheriff...that he will seek a peaceful and respectful solution that does not involve backing willy-nilly the federal agencies who are most probably seeking to back up unjust actions.

“So, before folks respond by throwing these people out with the wash...”

I would find it hard to believe that anyone would NOT side with the ranchers. The Fed is way out of line here and that doesn’t surprise me. Obama will call the ranchers terrorists. I fear this may not end well.

Lois Lerner committed multiple felonies. Hillary Clinton committed multiple felonies. Jon Corzine committed multiple felonies. Bill Clinton committed multiple felonies.

Oh - that's right. They're not peasants, like the Hammonds...

How about you find out what the Sheriff has or hasn’t done before you pray for that worthless sack. They want to send them back to prison under a new terrorism law, which is retroactive, which violates double jeopardy Constitutional law. The Sheriff is sitting on his hands, because half the population of Burns works for the Fed.

What you said - the Feds are still scratching the itch from when their attempt to screw the Bundy’s met with so much notoriety - they need to “prove themselves right” and I pray they don’t opt for another Ruby Ridge/Waco type event. If they do, they will probably find they have let the snake out of the can and the spring is too strong to allow them to stuff it back in.

!. Setting a backfire to try & slow down a range firee is a charge?

The Federal Government does this all the time with wildfires. Trying to protect your ranches—buildings—house—equipment— is something any of us would do.

2. “It was considered wrong by the Feds to burn pastures to control toxic weeds.

Burning pastures to stop toxic weeds isn’t anything new. They have done everything they can to blame toxic weeds on targets that were not responsible for such weeds. Horseback ricers have been blamed, when they are actually barely in the top ten reasons for the spreading of toxic weeds. Wind—Birds—Migrating animals—are all up higher on the list & the #1 reason for the spreading of toxic weeds may surprise you. RAILROADS. The rail lines were there before National Parks & other areas ere declared. A rail car can be in Georgia today & in Wyoming by Friday—no sweat. It is very easy for such rail cars to transport seeds.

The Hammonds have done NOTHING wrong. This is another Bundy Ranch situation, where the Federal Government is applying rules that have no basis. This administration in general would like every single rancher & farmer & person living rural to give up &* move into a city. I will NOT do so. Neither will my neighbors. Besides-—who will be growing the food you now eat if all these ranchers & farmers are put out of business. ???
