No, TPP cannot be passed with a Presidential veto. The TPA language mandates an up or down vote for affirmation. A presidential veto does not apply to a confirmation or a treaty affirmation— or, in the language used in TPA, a trade deal.

The stupid is strong in this one. The deal is a treaty and they get people like you confused because they decided to not call it a treaty. The deal will go through because if congress doesn't vote on it the deal is already done. If they do vote on it even if they turn it down it is subject to veto and congress will not overturn that.

Before Corker it would require a two thirds majority of the Senate to approve this treaty. After Corker it would require a two thirds majority to stop it. What part of that is so hard to understand?

You are either the most foolish Freeper I have ever met or you are a paid GOPe hack.

Whoa back up, you seem to be confusing TPA, TPP, and Corker. Corker has nothing to do with TPA or TPP.

Corker is about the Iran “deal” (treaty!) and it does change the rules for voting on the “deal” (treaty!). It takes a vote to stop the deal.

TPP however gets an “affirmation vote”. Obama cannot veto that vote. If either the House or Senate fails to pass TPP, it, TPP, dies. Both Senate and House have to vote to pass TPP. Veto does not apply.

And stop with the name calling. Have a rational discussion or get gone.
