Doh! VIDEO OF TRUMP SAYING IN SEPTEMBER TED CRUZ WAS PERFECTLY ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT

Apparently Donald Trump has reconsidered his stance that Ted Cruz is eligible to run for president after noticing that he’s kicking his butt in the Iowa polls, which is how the founders intended for us to solve such matters.

Here’s el Trumpo back in September telling ABC News that ALL the lawyers said Cruz could run legally:

You know, I like Cruz and will gladly vote for him but assholes like you make me reconsider why I should support a guy with zealots like you supporting him.

Trump isn’t questioning Cruz’s eligibility, he is saying the circumstances might cause a problem.

I don’t see where trump said Ted isn’t legal.
He said it could be an issue and that it could end up in the courts.

Some Dems have already vowed challenges.

Trump saying it was fine, but other people will still bring it up are two different things.

Disagree. Trump would not be so mealy mouthed - he'd own his comment.

Of course he was attempting to to cast doubt on Cruz's eligibility - as some one else here put it - its politics.

I do not love the Trump Cruz wars, either. In my opinion, though, Trump is questioning Cruz’s eligibility. I don’t think he really questions it, but he is seizing an opportunity to use it. I think he shouldn’t do that and of course Cruz supporters will react.

That said, we all need to put conservative principles ahead of personalities. Our goal should be to advance the principles and to teach and persuade the public that the Constitution is not a pliable thing to be rewritten by liberal whims. It is their inheritance and security. If they wanted it amended it is theirs to do so through a convention of states procedure, not through usurpation of power by the judicial or executive branch.

The media is trying to pit these two against each other. Trump's statement was reasonable. Cruz's response was humorous. They are good with each other. Let's not fan the fires. (And I say that as a proud birther who does question Cruz's "pure allegiance" at birth, but will happily vote for him regardless since the democrats don't care anyway --- Obama --- and we genuine conservatives are in full revolution mode.)

That's how I have been seeing it. They finally started to go after each other with gentle taps. Neither has hurt the other or said anything new that the media hadn't already said. In the meantime, it is all that is being hyped in the news and the other candidates are nowhere to be seen. Rather than inflicting damage to each other as the media hoped in pitting them against one another, the rest of the candidates are languishing further. Whichever candidate wins (and I am hoping for Cruz but do enjoy Trump's candidacy) I expect to see them up on the stage together congratulating the other with a smile.

Trump's expertise in judicial interpretation comprises the judging of his beauty contests.

Cruz argued 9 times before the Supreme court. Won 5.

Sums up the difference between the two.

I am happy you are enjoying that so much. Cause you aren’t going to be happy when Cruz wins the nomination. I already feel your pain.

If somebody is eligible then their eligibility isn't problematic.

If it went to the courts, I believe he'd be found to be eligible.

Whether it is problematic or not depends on whether the press will start pounding Cruz with questions about his eligibility now that Trump has mentioned it. Somehow it seems like everything Trump brings up becomes all the talk on TV for the next few days.

Even if Cruz gets past all the questions, the seed of concern has been planted in a lot of people's minds, particularly those people that vote but don't immerse themselves in politics.

Something about her face that is a bit scary.

Today in the mail I got a big envelope labeled “URGENT”. Now what could it be....hmmm....maybe his cleaning lady is so scared he won’t be elected that I MUST send $5 to help the cleaning lady keep her sanity.

I already unsubscribed to his emails...now they send me stuff through USPS.

Some scholars and lawyers saying he is elligible doesn’t take away from what others say in making it a problems. You guys are tying to call it a flip flop. But these are two separate issues.

Likewise to you when Trump is inaugurated.

Your opus should be fun to read.

FRiend, I couldn't agree with you more.

The fact of the matter is it's either Trump, Cruz or Clinton (as it appears now at least) so we best align against the real enemy Clinton.

Every election there is a contingent of trolls who come here to divide us and it seems a majority fall for it every time turning this into a battle ground instead of a discussion site.

Meh, just frustrated I guess but man I get so tired of the same people and their relentless provocative postings.

I'm not calling it a flip flop. Trump is doing what politicians do and trying to win primary voters. By his own words apparently he picked the wrong issue.

He and his supporters need to acknowledge that and move on.

Let’s face it, Obama was not born in Hawaii. The media et al kept him safe.

Cruz was a dual citizen until quite recently. That is a fact, not conjecture. It would be used against him by the Rats. Would I vote for Cruz? Hell yes. Would he win the general? I doubt it.

You just captured my thoughts as well.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that this whole thing about Cruz troubles me. To remain consistent, I’d have to reject Cruz for the same reason I don’t believe 0bama is legitimate. Even if he were born in Hawaii (which I don’t believe), his father was not a citizen, thus he is not a natural-born citizen. Senator Cruz admits to his Canadian birth and his Cuban non-American citizen father. I don’t doubt for a second the man’s love for this country but the U.S. Constitution is the law of the land and if one of the qualifications for president is that one must be a natural-born citizen, with its meaning being someone being born in the US with parentS (plural) being citizens, then it is with great pains that I cannot support Ted Cruz. I’m no constitutional scholar so I could be wrong.

I like the guy. Would love to meet him but if he isn’t eligible, he isn’t eligible and remember the RATS don’t play fair. They will excuse 0bama (he isn’t a NBC either) but they will go after Senator Cruz. Count on it.

He is brilliant and much needed in the DOJ or SCOTUS. Attorney General Ted Cruz or Chief Justice Ted Cruz. I can get behind that.

The question has always been is he eligible to run for president. I believe that has been settled conclusively. That the other side will bring it up cannot be helped, since they make sh*t up about their opponents all of the time.

There is no point in doing their dirty work for them by bringing it up.

I'd say the same thing if Cruz started talking about Trumps bankruptcies, which would be irrelevant.
