Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday said he's unsure whether Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is a natural-born citizen, and suggested his GOP rival resolve the matter in federal court.
"I don't know to be honest, and I like him a lot," Trump said about Cruz's citizenship in an interview on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."
Trump doubled down on his recent attacks, questioning the Canadian-born hopeful's eligibility to be president. But the real estate mogul explained that he's discussing the topic because reporters have brought it up.
He suggested Cruz go "immediately" to federal court and seek a "declaratory judgment" to quell the issue.
"You go to federal court, you ask for a declaratory judgment. Once the court rules, you have your decision," Trump said. "That will clear it all up."

You’re absolutely right. My take is that Trump “spies” found out some info that Dems were holding back on this until the right time.
Eggg-Zackly! You get a gold star, Cbolt!
Actually it was Pennsylvania attorney Philip Berg an operative for Hitlerly's campaign in Pennsylvania in 2008.
He was and is a wack job. However, his birther theory is not the only one out there. Some of them merit further investigation.
If having duel citizenship is/was not a problem, why did he renounce his Canadian citizenship?
yeah, but he wasn’t happy about Trump’s ethanol and Senate attack on Cruz at all. And neither was Levin
Why don’t you ask your fellow birther kooks and maybe you can come up with an answer.
Okay, didn’t hear that part...I switched him off at that point.
I did hear some of Levin tonight...”conservatives, stop chasing cults of personality.”
No kidding.
Thank you very much! I haven’t seen this before. Or not this exact PDF. I will read this right after dinner.
So... you don’t really know for sure whether they’re working together or not, do you?
I’m just curious... Why do the Cruz-Only people act as if that would be a stupid career move? Why is it viewed as a bad thing — a negative, if you will — to serve for 8 years as an indespensible VP who could and would be of immense worth to the POTUS team? All the while KNOWING that he could run for POTUS again in a few years. How in the world could that be seen as a bad thing?
Let’s see... Cruz could have a max of 8 yrs in the WH, or he could have a max of 16 years. You tell me. Why is that a bad thing?
Is it because of the whole “coming in 2nd place” thingy? Does it trigger some kind of inferiority thing with some people?
Is it because of pre-existing and very intense hatred for Trump?
Is it because some hated FReeper y’all endure every day has chosen Trump, so of course you won’t be that stupid?
Is it because... Oh, shoot. I’ll wait for a rational answer from you or anyone else who can explain it, because it really makes no sense at all.
Hmmm... What if Trump promised Cruz he would only serve one term? Would it still be a bad career move?
If yes, then why? Because you hate Donald J. Trump so much? smh
a VP who actually has valuable functions and roles because his POTUS knows his intelligence —
We need an edit button. That last creepy-crawly half-sentence was supposed to be up there to describe Cruz’s value as VP in the 2nd paragraph.
LOL!
I'll tell you why it's such a bad thing. Trump is a lifelong progressive liar and Cruz knows it would be career suicide to link up with him.
He isn't stupid.
a show of total devotion to the US....even though it’s not relevant to the decision.
oh dear Lord, you are the pansy of pansies.
Thanks for clarification.
This actually very sophisticated help for Cruz.
No Cruz should NOT seek a declaratory judgement.
As was demonstrated with Obama, no one has standing to challenge Cruz’s eligibility.
By seeking a declaratory judgement Cruz would negate the one thing protecting him the most which is that no one has standing.
Ok, so that probably falls under the "pre-existing and very intense hatred for Trump" category. Now we're getting somewhere.
Have you known Donald Trump all his life so you can share his lies with us? Because I'm not sure I could vote for a lifelong liar. I've read his early books, most of them anyway, so I'm comparing his early words and viewpoints in the 1980s with what he says today and all. Hey, would you like to borrow these books so you won't have to take the media's word for this? I'm sure you would read them, no?
And "progressive."... You mean as in giving money to democrats and junk, i suppose?
I'm curious... Have you ever owned your own business? If yes, do you know anything about how to survive and prosper financially in the corporate world of NYC? If you've never owned your own business, I hear there's a few bakery shops across the country going out of business that you could buy. They aren't in NYC, but I hear they're going for cheap.
(I made it really easy this time to spot the questions.)
Someone suggested one of the reasons Trump brought it up was because he might be asking Cruz to be his running mate if he gets the nod. So I assume this also affects the V.P. choice in case he’d/she’d have to take over the office in case something happens to the President?
