Six states allow winners to remain anonymous: Delaware, Maryland, South Carolina, Kansas, North Dakota and Ohio.

Don’t know if that means you have to actually be from that state to just report it there and be anonymous?

You can check with those other states to see if you can change your appearance, after they confirm your win. My lottery corporation allows that. They allow a mutually agreed upon word that you both recognize to endure they are dealing with you.

You have to buy your ticket in those states.

A year or two ago, a PA man bought a winning powerball in MD. Because MD is an anonymous winner state, his personal info was never publicized. Had he bought the ticket in his home state of PA it would have been publicized.
