Ted Cruz Is Guest of Two Gay Businessmen
The New York Times ^ | APRIL 23, 2015 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Posted on 01/11/2016 8:26:21 PM PST by gg188

Senator Ted Cruz has positioned himself as a strong opponent of same-sex marriage, urging pastors nationwide to preach in support of marriage as an institution between a man and a woman, which he said was “ordained by God.”

But on Monday night, at a reception for him at the Manhattan apartment of two prominent gay hoteliers, the Texas senator and Republican presidential hopeful struck quite a different tone.

During the gathering, according to two people present, Mr. Cruz said he would not love his daughters any differently if one of them was gay. He did not mention his opposition to same-sex marriage, saying only that marriage is an issue that should be left to the states.

He’s a troll alright. Hasn’t posted in 10 years and comes out of hiding to support the liberal Trump.

I too would not love my daughter any less if she turned out to be gay. I wouldn’t like it, but I’d still love my daughter.

A poster said, today, they cannot trust Phyllis Schlafly because she has a gay son, who, said the poster, works for her.

From April. Also, Reagan took money from the Log Cabin Republicans. When asked about it, he said “They agreed with my policies, even if I didn’t agree with theirs”. A non-issue

“I too would not love my daughter any less if she turned out to be gay. I wouldn€™t like it, but I’d still love my daughter.”

I don't have a problem with the statement above at all.

Just the fact that this is the same penthouse where a young man died in the bathroom of two older men. What was Ted thinking? If he didn't know, his staff let him down. They should have checked out the donors better.

Not really. Just had never heard about the young man’s death, in that apartment.

Sure you would, as would anyone.

This is another trumpy inspired political hit story, one of over a thousand by now..

I’m sick of them...

Trump will find it very difficult getting my support if he wins the primary. It was difficult before, and now it’s near impossible.

A decision that I will make in the booth.

“ANYTHING better than a Republican, right “aMorePerfectUnion?””

I don’t pretend:

1. That Cruz or Trump or anyone else is going to change the USA system of crony capitalism, regulatory landslide, terrible legal liability environment, etc.

2. That there is such a thing as a perfect candidate, nor a perfect conservative. Not Cruz, nor anyone else. It is a mirage.

In the end, even the Great Ronaldo Maximus, who I like and respect, was not perfect. Nor did the system change. Nor did government shrink.

Now, please calm down and post the Rafael Ted Cruz, Canadian Birth Certificate. I’ve not seen it yet.

Cruz met with these gentlemen in April, 2015, because they asked to meet with him. The meeting was covered by the press because I read the news articles. His position about homosexual marriage is what he told those men then and he continues to have those same convictions now - the states should determine the definition of marriage in their state, as the constitution does not give that determination to the federal government.

I am sure Cruz gave them his conservative government plan as well as answering the homosexual marriage question. I do not know if the men gave him a contribution. If they did, their names would be on the list of Cruz donors which is a public list. Cruz is not responsible for other people’s behavior, including those men.

Cruz also met with Trump that spring and he is not responsible for Trump’s behavior, either. I do not know if Trump gave him a contribution, but if he did, his name would also be on the Cruz list of donors which is a public list.

Cruz does not exist in isolation, only talking to those who agree with him 100%. He is an equal opportunity speaker willing to share his conservative government plan with those who are interested. He is not responsible for their behavior, either.

I contribute to the Cruz campaign, and my name is on his list of donors which is a public list. Cruz is also not responsible for my behavior.

It was a drug OD.....

As to what Cruz reportedly said, he has said it before, many times. He follows it up by saying it’s a matter for the states to decide.

I have to agree. Up until VERY recently, i would pick Trump over Clinton if Cruz did not get the nomination. Now, I see that Trump and his followers use the same playbook. Why bother? Nothing changes, same old Arkanside / Chicago politics. I am throughly disappointed.

Cruz also attended a fundraiser at James Carville’s house today... hosted by Carville’s wife, a Republican political
consultant, Mary Matalin.

The fact Cruz is at the house or dines with someone doesn’t mean he endorses them or everything they do or believe. It’s politics. You play the game.

Ted is running as Saint Ted. Trump is not running as Saint Donald. We know who Trump is.

Did you know that Heidi had a weird incident in 2005 involving depression?

We all have things we might not want to expose, but Ted recently met with these guys, so I think it is fair game to wonder why Ted & Heidi met with them.
