Not in essence. With Solomon's solution, there was one baby at issue among two women, with the baby dying if one of them didn't give. With this idea the baby bill is divided into two or more, all or none of which might live.
It's logically different.
Now as to the "wisdom of Solomon," it's empty hype. He wasn't wise enough to raise an heir capable of keeping the empire intact, was he? Yet that was his first and most important responsibility before the Lord. He was in love with his pleasures, as the Torah teaches not to be.
