The man who attacked a police station in Paris last week had been previously arrested in Germany's Cologne for sexually assaulting women in a nightclub, German police said.
The man was shot dead by French police on Thursday after he tried to storm a police station in northern Paris, brandishing a meat cleaver and wearing a fake suicide vest.
The assault took place exactly one year since the start of a series of jihadist attacks in France, marked by the killing of 12 people at the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine on January 7th 2015.
French investigators said on Friday the suspect appeared to have been identified by his family and was said to be a Tunisian named Tarek Belgacem.(more...)
I would like to read this story more often.
It’s unfortunate that he wasn’t given the Michelin tire treatment - it might have sent a statement to those of a similar affliction.
If you treat them as common criminals, you will ignore his family. If you treat them as ideologues and invaders, you will investigate seriously and deport his family. I will bet you $100 his family was complicit and knowledgeable about his activities.
I love a happy ending, too!
Germany releases violent rapists who have no connection to the community? That is an interesting policy decision from Merkel!
Merkel should be in custody.
“Merkel should be in custody.”
One has to wonder just how long the German police/military (what little they have there) will tolerate Merkel. Say what we might about Obama, Merkel is 10 times worse, at least. She is practically forcing a civil to start in her own country.
Don’t be surprised if one day we wake up to find her under house arrest and a new leader running the country, undoing the damage she’s doing there.
