Most, not all his supporters are always defensive and angry.

Kind of ironic. Cruz never presents himself as defensive
and angry.

It's been in the world of real estate, but Trump has a history of doing what he says he is going to do. And doing it very well. Trump has brought immigration and now, thank God, Islam, to the forefront of the election and there is no rational reason to think he is not going to take on both issues with the vigor he has brought to the campaign. The other candidates, even Cruz, are largely parroting Trump as it has become obvious that the voting public likes what he says. No one previously spoke in the black and white language of Trump. It has taken a lot of character to take the hard stances as Trump has knowing how he would be initially castigated in the media and amongst the p.c. public. It's just not rational to think Trump will become president and not fervently attack these issues. And without a solution to these problems, all other problems are irrelevant.

And fwiw, I like Cruz and would not be unhappy at all if he is the candidate or eventual president. You do him no favors, in fact you (and many others here) do harm to his campaign when you mock Trump fans with name calling, etc.

Jess Ventura was a “strong and bold” candidate, too

As a Governor, he was a zero. Maybe less than zero.

Interesting that Trump, by pretty large numbers, is considered “least conservative” of the three.

I agree.

Probably over 50 percent now, and over 60 after he wins NH, SC, NV and maybe even IA.

Likely not the best comparison between a Pro Wrestler and a CEO responsible for over 22,000 jobs and $9.5 billion in annual revenue.

GOPe still thinks it’ll probably still be Bush that gets the nomination

They're still hoping for a brokered convention, i.e. Trump gets a plurality but not a majority, so that the delegates break rank under orders from the RNC and nominate Jeb.

Not funny to me....
They’ve been in charge for so long, only God knows what they are up to.....BUT, this time, our eyes are WIDE OPEN!

You come on a Trump thread to insult us, then accuse us of insulting you?

Your ethics and character leave a lot to be desired.

Trump’s policies are the most conservative in the field. So much so that Cruz had to adjust his, many times, to even be close to Trump’s standard.

I think you are right.

FRs mentioned how one of the worst ads is Jeb's about Rubio's boots set to Nancy Sinatra's song. I'll probably get criticized for saying it but I thought it was catchy - appealing to certain segment of the population.

I agree, topics such as style of boots and Rubio's comb-over are totally trivial points. But the ad does get attention and then points, perhaps too quickly to Rubio's shortcomings.

[Interesting that Trump, by pretty large numbers, is considered “least conservative” of the three.]

Trump has by far the most conservative policies. Cruz has had to edit his, numerous times m just to catch up.

Trump took great risks by bringing up controversial issues and taking a very hard line. It could’ve backfired instead of being embraced by the people. He wouldn’t take that risk - along with being attacked by the left, media, and his own party - if he wasn’t following through. Pandering is taking the easy road - the middle. Like the road Cruz tried to take on illegals until he decided to follow Trump’s footsteps after seeing how popular it was.

I agree with this. The Cruzers really turn me off about their boy.

People from all persuasions will come out for Trump, probably more democrats. It’s going to be an amazing thing...we might take all 50 states.

Yawn.

Being consevative, or moderate, or liberal doesn’t win elections.
A coalition wins elections.
Trump offers some important issues to conservatives and to moderates: with that coalition he wins.
Mainly his appeal to conservatives is: illegal immigration and his war on PC.

The Cruz campaign has locked up his conservative base and will start trying to appeal to moderates.
Not easy but he has the ability to do so. And the poll shows he has the opportunity.
If he fails he’s finished.

Here on FR, the idea of appealing to ‘moderates’ (those in the ideological middle) seems wrong- but it takes more than half to win an election.

Cruz supporters will say that this confirms that there is an embarrassing number of gullible Republicans. But, it’s up to Cruz to educate those before it’s too late.
