Because the Great Society destroyed the urban family and now they are multi generationally dependent on government. A case study in the failure of government both federal and local. I lived in the Bronx for a bit 20 years ago. Not exactly pleasant. And it was indeed a far different place 50 years ago from what I can recall.
Lower Manhattan is not the Bronx. Queens is not the Bronx. Yonkers is certainly not the Bronx. And Staten Island voted 49/49 last election. And then there’s the Long Island and the vast New York immediately north of NYC. New York is not the Bronx. And yet that’s not to knock Bronx nor the Bronx Bombers...
