Trump Tees Off: Cruz A 'Canadian' Who Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank 'Owns'
Daily Caller ^ | 1/16/16 | Derek Hunter

Donald Trump, the billionaire businessman and GOP presidential frontrunner, has taken off the gloves in his fight with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

What was friendly jabbing in the Fox Business Channel debate has gotten nasty as Trump now directly questions Cruz's eligibility to serve as president and the $1 million loan Cruz took from Goldman Sachs to jumpstart his Senate campaign.

"Goldman Sachs owns him, he will do anything they demand. Not much of a reformer!" Trump tweeted.

"Ted Cruz purposely, and illegally, did not list on his personal disclosure form personally guaranteed loans from banks," Trump added. "They own him!"

-snip-

These latest salvos come amidst news that Cruz had another undisclosed 2012 campaign loan from Citi Bank.

Because he says he’s the “consistent conservative”.

Here is an insider's report on how Bush wound up as Reagan's running mate. It's a very interesting read.

Again, that’s not the point. It’s politics...it’s a blood sport.

The loan from Goldman Sachs was a margin loan which is issued against the money in your own investment account. Basically it is like taking a cash advance against your own stocks which must later be paid back at a low interest rate. It is like cashing a check against your own credit card where you do not even need a loan officer to sign off on it.

Yup (at least with the Goldman Sacs loan, don't know if that's true for the 500,000 Citi bank loan!), and completely different than how he claimed he was funding his own campaign!

He said it was a “clerical error” the other night. I guess he’ll be firing his secretary pretty soon. Or his accountant. He needs to throw somebody under the bus to get out of this.

I am the same way Trump or Cruz. But would prefer Cruz.

Should Trump take out Cruz with dirty pool, I will just enthusiastically support Trump.

Eric Trump says is dad is for Amnesty. So we build the wall and allow 99% of immigrants in anyway?

Look at daily Mail article about Germany...

Cruz math:

Ted + Wife + Goldman Sachs + Loan = a 5 fold increase in H-1B visas

Isn’t good to have a candidate that disaffected Dems and Indies will vote for? Didn’t the GOP want a “big tent”? So we have a candidate that can deliver and we don’t like it because he points out flaws or issues about other candidates that may not attract those same Dems and Indies?

It is only the partial story. The bigger picture includes why the eGOP wouldn’t work with Reagan to ensure there was a running mate long before those events took place.

..he must really believe he can forge a coalition that has cuts out a large chunk of the conservative base--I guess he will find out in a couple of weeks.

..DT has crossed the Rubicon on this one--or is it burned the Brooklyn Bridge...

My point however is that I am sure that Trump has taken out hundreds of loans as a real estate developer from banks all over the world many of them for tens of millions of dollars.

Your point is valid and I'm guessing is going to hammer Trump on that. And then he can say, "Hey, the difference between Trump and me is that I'm paying my loans back."

What...are we all Occupy Wall Street groupies now?

He has a loan out, so what. The screw up with his paper work was stupid on his part.

Are only Soros, Koch and Trump sorts supposed to run for office now?

If this is how it is, Kayne West will be president when he runs. Idiocracy in progress.

I’m out of here for a while.

What does Cruz bring to the table?

Bona fide conservative credentials. Choosing Cruz as a running mate would help to mollify those in the base who are worried that Trump is a closet liberal.

How was it signed on the "twenty-first" day of December, January 1970, when he was born on 22nd December 1970?

Maybe you should take another look at your "great discovery".

“Years of bribing them.” "See post 63....When Trump makes a campaign contribution it’s a BRIBE....but when Cruz gets them they aren’t bribes???"

All I said , and all my point was - Is that Donald Trump is also a POLITICIAN. Much as Ted Cruz is. His supporters main argument seems to be that he is NOT.

I will certainly vote for and support Trump if he wins the Republican nomination. As I will Cruz.

But I will support and vote for Cruz in the primaries, because I feel he is easily the most consistent and proved conservative we have running.
