Well said. MLK was a far from perfect person, but he was a force for good, and he did a lot to improve things in this country.
Does he deserve his own day? Probably not. But was he a great man who deserves respect for what he did? Absolutely! So maybe that's my answer to the original post. I'll spend a small slice of MLK day thinking about the peaceful efforts he made on behalf of my fellow citizens.
