The only thing keeping us out of a recession is the Fed’s printing and bond buying. It looks like all that did was delay the inevitable.

I think most of us have known that this last 7 years would not end well. The recession that never ended will now probably be the depression it really was all along.

An economy based on servicing each other though is no basis for prosperity. Obungo just flogged it to death. Like running an engine without oil until the bearings burned instead of caring for it until the oil pump could be fixed. The seeds of this failure were planted before obnungo though. I saw it 35 years ago when the steel belt became the rust belt and jobs started being off-shored. We have been marking time since then. When the people that make stuff can’t afford to buy it and the people who buy it are doing that on credit the wealth of the nation is being harvested. Nothing is going back to the soil.

The boomer generation will pay for what the silent generation started and the hippies finished and they will never recover. I am one of them.

Trump proved today, if there ever was a doubt, he is just another politican. I actually was fool enough to have a little hope for just a little while. The ethanol pandering went too far, the Cruz bashing has gone from what I thought was a little game to win at any cost and just mean and pointless. A fine example of the new york way.

I believe you can. There were years during the Great Depression where things improved.

I don’t understand why you people don’t simply wait and see what Trump does, or what Cruz does. You seem to enjoy speculating and running your blood pressure up and down for no reason.

Technically, there’s no difference between the two terms, economists simply changed from using the word depression to using the word recession.

But using the non-economist versions of the terms, sure. Happened at least once in the thirties as the economy was recovering but hadn’t fully recovered, then settled a setback.

Whether we could have one now depends on if you believe there has been a recovery.

"Can you have a recession inside of a depression inside of another depression?"

You can in obama's world.
