When I was 26, I was married with two kids and a full time job. I was also in the process of purchasing my first house. I was years removed from having my parents involved in my life except for birthdays, Christmas get-togethers and the occasional phone call to say hello.

I agree with you that it is a ridiculous notion that Sarah Palin should be home tending to her 26-year-old grown son.
