Another freeper 3 days ago had an interesting take on WHY the Iranians were so promptly given the position of the men and invited to help:
It was just before the State of the Union address and Obama fancied that he’d be able to chirp about how SUPER FRIENDLY the Iranians suddenly were to the USA, and how he, Obama, was responsible for this new and clearly shown change.
And instead Obama got double-crossed.
I thought it was an interesting possibility.

They were probably ordered, to make sure the Iranians got classified information, so, to throw the Sat phones overboard, would be to deny the Iranians the classified information that Obama wanted them to have. That's my take on it.

The most plausible aspect of this idea is that ignorant mouthy Obama had another stupid plan, it blew up in his face, and the Iranians punked him like the little bitch that he is.
He thinks that just because his "blackness" is his most powerful weapon in the United States, that the rest of the world will cringe in terror of it. They don't. They simply don't give a sh*t that he's "black."
All they see is an silly buffoon prancing about like he's important.
