Yes, but most of them would be 20 years or better on the force before retiring.

Full retirement and healthcare for life after 20, nice gig if you can get it.

Yeah, but if you think about that fact a lot of retired cops are paying alimony or commit suicide a few years after they retire, doesn’t seem like a lot.
Plus, military can retire after 20 and get the same thing. But, less retirement pay and crappy healthcare.
Public sector jobs rock. Being a cop or a fireman or even some desk wonk means a hefty benefit plan. Could that be the reason so many cities are going tits up?
