I think the odds now are in favor of a Trump nomination...not in the bag, but looking stronger by the day.
Due to the birther fight, I can’t see how Trump can pick Cruz.
IMHO, Trump is a bottom-line guy. He will look over his options and pick the one that will give him the greatest chance to get to 270 electoral votes. This choice will not include the 3 from Alaska. Putting aside the large blue states of CA, NY, and IL, I think he will target the large swing states of FL, PA, and OH for his VP choice...I can’t think of anyone from PA who can help him. So, I think he will choose either Rubio or Kasich...probably Rubio who can help him with the Hispanic vote...then again, he could also pick Oprah!
I'm sure the Trump supporters would immediately change their opinions of the two.

You need to look in the mirror if you want to visualize the meaning of the word zealot. You said, “At this point, if you're even a tacit Trump supporter, you're pro-establishment, pro-cronyism, pro-NY values.” A “tacit” supporter is by definition not a zealot. I will gladly vote for either Cruz or Trump in the general election... does that make me a “zealot”? I want to defeat the Democrats.
I can understand why you have been posting a lot of crazy stuff this last week. It was exciting as Cruz reached the pinnacle of his support. But he was kind of flying under the radar and now a bunch of negative stuff has wounded his campaign. It has a better chance of recovering if you and other “zealots” don't offend everyone under the sun who might just be on the same side as you.
