Washington “makes’ deals. They say, “you can have a billion dollar a year advantage’ IF you buy twenty thousand copies of my book at $40.00 a copy....

“We’ll make great deals for the country”

That is the difference. Deals for the country.

So you think Trump is wrong here to be espousing compromise. I agree with you.

Yet Trump insists on compromise. What a RINO loser.

When I was in the Landuse wars in the late 90s as Senior Ed at Off-Road.com, thats the math we tried fruitlessly to instill on people RE the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Sierra Club, Center for Biological Diversity, Earth First and their ilk.

And it’s simple math/logic. It is also what liberals do in all aspects of their fight to get what they want. Like Muslims, once they hit a certain percentage (in this case, percentage of land taken), the masks come off and land gets grabbed.

Compromise is the philosophy of failure and loss. You do not EVER gain through compromise. By definition the word is about giving up something. To compromise anything is to lose a part of it.

People are conditioned to believe compromise is good. This is absurd. If you believe in something, you fight for it. You do not give it away.

People compromised abortion and ‘dealt’ away the lives of babies to elect Mitt Romney. They failed. Kids died because of it. The compromise in principles accomplished one thing. It made people more liberal because once you compromise your integrity, there is no getting it back. Ever.

When people compromise here and then compromise there, then compromise somewhere else, are they gaining anything? No. They are losing. and Liberals win by process of attrition. One need only look out the door or turn on the computer to see the world created by their compromise. And their father’s compromise.

When people scream about purity what they mean is that they want to give away the good they have now. Because if they wanted good in their life they would fight to keep it, not give it away in some absurd bargaining tactic.

You do not win through loss. Math simply does not work that way. It is better to fight for what you believe is right and lose than to simply give up what is yours to begin with in some doublesupersecret3Dchess fiasco and lose anyway.

People who refuse to stand for or fight for what they claim to believe in always complain about those that do. Because, simply put, we are better people than they are. Their inaction proves that conclusively. People they know they do not have it in them to be. So they can only bitch in their self loathing while destroying everything around them. And pointing the finger of blame away from the actual problem. Themselves.

Remember the days when such a radical notion was standard issue reality for Freepers? Then they ‘evolved’.

Reagan did it repeatedly with Tip O'neil and others.

That is because the Dems controlled Congress. Are you suggesting that Congress will flip to the Dems in the next election? If not, your example is meaningless.

Meaningless, how? Negotiating with McConnell is no different than negotiating with Reid. EVERY political effort is a negotiation...at least in a Democratic Republic.

I see no evidence that Dems do not control congress. Thanks to compromising lesser evil idiocy. The 100% Republican capitulation has no functional difference to a Dem controlled congress.

People elected the liberals they wanted to enact the liberalism they wanted. And they elected it with an R to soothe their consciences about it. Had they not wanted liberalism, they would have empowered conservatives to those positions. Not people that campaigned on working with Obama ‘where possible’. Lest we forget, ANYTHING is ‘possible’.

Now, all they have the power to do is fantisize creative new excuses to justify how they didn’t do what the facts show they did.

Not entirely; if you can get them to drop bad policy in compromise, it could be a good thing.

From what I have been hearing from both(and what I know of Cruz as our Senator), Cruz seems to be the one who would most likely honor the separation of powers.
