Cruz: Establishment Has Abandoned Rubio for Trump
National Review ^

Posted on 01/20/2016 4:19:24 PM PST by springwater13

Yes, you read that right. According to Ted Cruz, the so-called Republican establishment is abandoning Florida senator Marco Rubio and uniting behind real-estate mogul Donald Trump. Cruz has long said the Republican primary would come down to two candidates, one a conservative, the other an establishment moderate.

Now that Cruz and Trump are leading the polls, he's trying his hardest to paint Trump as the latter. "We're seeing something remarkable happening in this Republican primary," the Texas senator told reporters on Wednesday. "Right now, the Washington establishment is abandoning Marco Rubio, they’ve made the assessment that Marco can’t win this race, and the Washington establishment is rushing over to support Donald Trump. We're seeing that happen every day, and Mr. Trump is welcoming that support."

Wanna bet? 100 buck donation to FR says if Trump wins the RINOS don’t repeal Obamacare? They’d play semantic Gamez by altering a bit but they will not repeal it

Just like shipping back all the illegals. He won’t do it.

It was but just a few years ago the Mouth Of Manhattan called Willard’s immigration plan mean!

Yes, and what they write on the blank sheet of paper has changed with Trump’s more recent statements. People who claimed to be against GOPe are now apologists for Trump’s cozying up to Mitch McConnell. They were initially all about Trump being anti GOPe. Now they are all about Trump being better at working with the GOPe.

Hearing a rumor that a chamber of Commerce endorsement for Trump is coming soon as well.

And should it, the bots will defend it, too.

Yeah...because liberals talk about building a wall, stopping anchor babies, deporting illegal aliens, and taking care of our vets.

We were told repeatedly before how Trump was better at removing the establishment. Now the argument is that Trump is better at working with the establishment and will get along well with them.

Yes, the change happened so quickly it has given me whiplash.

How would you feel if at a rally you suddenly turned and saw Bob Dole standing next to you?

TPP has not been voted on yet. TPA, which Cruz helped to get started, will enable TPP to pass. Ends American sovereignty.

I know some Dems who are voting for Cruz. They don’t like Hillary, Sanders or Trump.

Your comparison of Trump's past liberalism and to that of SCOTUS justices prior to their confirmations is specious.

So Cruz helped to get TPA started? TPA has been in existence for 80 years and has been an authority held by every President but one during that time. No trade deal has been made during that 80 years without TPA.

He intends to repeal Obamacare. he has been adamant about that. All congress has to do is hand him the bill. Once repealed, Congress can start over. I’ll take that deal. Obamacare is bankrupting the industry. It has to be repealed and replaced. there is no choice.

Considering that Trump supports universal healthcare, I doubt he would sign an Obamacare "repeal" unless it was attached to a "replacement" that is just as bad, if not worse.

What power would a senator have over the Speaker of the House?

Unfortunately for Cruz, Palin’s endorsement is the only news I see on TV.

Yeah?
I see plenty of news about the arrest of Palin’s son for domestic violence.
