At least one thousand students skipped New Trier High School's mandatory day of "racial identity" classes on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The suburban Chicago high school, which ranks among the top public high schools in the country, held class on the public holiday, and scheduled seminars on "systemic racism" that sought to increase students' awareness "of their own racial identities and the identities of others."
But students stayed away in droves.

They were going to explain to white students why they are skipped over for jobs and college entrance because of their skin color?
I thought race wasn’t supposed to matter anymore. The Libs have changed their tune, now they want people to pay attention to race, and apologize (and pay) for it if they are white.
Let’s learn from Europe’s mistakes, and not let PC policies get out of hand. The fact that these students didn’t participate is excellent!

Separate but equal was once enforced by the government as the only way to maintain “separateness.” It seems today it is enforced by the government as the only way to attain “equality,” since certain racial identities are unable to attain it on their own, even when the playing field is slanted in their favor.

Where at that point I’d hope they’d firmly stand their ground.
Race only matters when it affects them.
Remember the entire progressive ideology (including 1000 points of sh** like this) is funded by government debt and printed money.

The white race in Europe and America has lost its identification as a “People.”(A people being defined; “as a demographic that views itself as a unit.”) We are being conquered.
Talk about injecting politics into the school. It’s so blatant now. Liberals can’t help themselves, they just have to use public institutions to push their agenda. They should be fired.

They sure changed their tune fast when they became the Establishment, didn’t they, after pushing prayer out of school, they push their own marxist indoctrination in.
I wonder how they handled mixed race kids. Who determines their race? Do they have an official racial determination board or some kind of instruction published?
Our HS offered a free bus ride and admission to the National Constitution Center (Philly) on Monday. There was a special event honoring MLK.
They cancelled the trip for lack of student interest. Kids don’t want to do anything on a free day off but relax.
Incidentally, I’ve taken all 3 of my kids to the NCC, and it’s a worthwhile trip.
There remains hope, that common sense (rationality) yet survives.
