The metal wear strip wore out on mine (10+ years).
I emailed the company, they said send a picture and we'll mail you a new one.
They sent a whole new shovel pan with wear strip riveted on.
As an aside, I finally broke down and bought a fancy ergonomic snow shovel. I've been using a regular scoop shovel for years. That snow shovel really works. Haven't had so much as a dusting since I bought it!
