It's not at all the same thing. If someone is working for remuneration, the affected parties are the other persons receiving remuneration and competing for promotions; yet family-run businesses are still entirely legal in the U.S.
If a radio commentator has past or present employment ties or family members working for someone he is interviewing or opining about, he has a professional obligation to mention it, just as good journalists do in print if they have an implied conflict of interest when writing about a person they are interviewing.
If Trump’s campaign employed Rush’s nephew or brother, or one of the major news outlets host’s relatives....the CRuzer’s would be having full-flung hissy fits. That person would’ve already been called so many names, we’d run out of bandwidth.

There are times when the American people SHOULD know what’s going on behind the scene particularly when media is concerned. All relationships that may even give the propriety of bias must be exposed
