it ain't about conservatism. after the recent painful elections, the republicans failed to live up to their promises and wimped out - voters do not trust them anymore.
Right. Electing politicians who promise to represent the voters and then stab them in the back hasn't work. How many of them ran as conservatives, only to change their spots as soon as they crossed the Potomac?
So, maybe electing a non-politician will work. He certainly couldn't do much worse.
Republicans are always conservative at election time, but that disappears when they get to Washington.
Perhaps it was never really there.
I don’t have any illusions that any of these guys can be perfect, not if they operate within the system, but they really don’t even bother with it at all and insult the voters to boot.
