Canada's Trudeau to DiCaprio: Your climate remarks don't help By Reuters

Published: 17:04 EST, 22 January 2016 | Updated: 17:04 EST, 22 January 2016

DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged Leonardo DiCaprio to tone down his "inflammatory rhetoric" on climate change saying it was not helping those who have lost their oil-industry jobs.

The movie star had told the World Economic Forum in the Swiss mountain town of Davos on Wednesday that corporate greed was causing climate change and "enough is enough."

At a dinner later in the day, Trudeau, elected in October as the head of a Liberal government, took the 41-year-old actor to task.

"I pointed out that both Alberta and Canada have new governments over the past year that are committed to action on climate change...and that there are families suffering, out of work, who need to be supported, and inflammatory rhetoric doesn't necessarily help those families or help Canada," Trudeau said as he recounted his remarks to reporters on Friday.

The average IQ in the U.S is 98. That’s saying 98 is the baseline for functional stupidity.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

“....corporate greed ....”

I wonder if she would include actors in that corporate greed ... I don’t see the actors scaling back their salaries, driving Priuses, living in 1,200 sq. ft. homes, etc .... no, she will just point her finger at all the others.

Who is this "she" you're talking about?

Just as long as he plays roles where he is a boy. Anything other than that and he is not believable.

Weird. I never would have pictured Justin Trudeau being the "voice of reason" compared to DiCaprio. Speaks volumes that DiCaprio's "environmental activism" is to the left of that guy.

On the flip side, Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo (whose main claim to fame is he was willing to work cheaper than Edward Norton and thus replaced him as Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk) appears to be on the level of Ed Asner liberal insanity. The vast majority of Hollywood actors are liberals, so it really takes something special to stand out in that crowd, and this guy has it. He's the only white actor I've read about thus far who is joining the "Oscar boycott" because no blacks were nominated this year, and he's an outspoken Bernie Sanders supporter (shouldn't he be boycotting the Dem primaries because no blacks are on the ballot?)

Trudeau has to worry about Canada’s economy and winning reelection. Hollywood Leo doesn’t have to ever worry about losing his job at the oil refinery cause of lib activists.

Didn’t know that about Mark “B-List” Ruffalo. Never really cared for him.
