Trump: When I get to Washington, I’m Going to Become Part of the Establishment...

I am not making this up or exaggerating what Donald Trump said. These are his words and you can see the video for yourself. Via the Blaze, Trump literally says that when he gets to Washington he's going to become an establishment politician so that he can get some really great, super huge, classy deals done.

Here he is speaking in Las Vegas last night.

***snip***

Trump: And you know what, there's a point at which, let's get to be a little bit establishment, because we gotta get things done, folks, okay? Believe me, don't worry, we're gonna get such great deals, but at a certain point, you can't be so strident, you can't not get along, we gotta get along with people. You know in the old days, Ronald Reagan, and I remember it so vividly, I was a young guy, I helped Ronald Reagan, I really liked him... so what happens, Ronald Reagan would get along with (Democrat) Tip O'Neill, and they'd sit down, and they'd make great deals for everybody. That's what the country's about, isn't it? I mean, we can all be tough but at some point we gotta get our country back on track.

yep the Dems did get great deals. They also made a lot of promises to Reagan which they didn’t follow thru on.

How exactly is Ted not part of the establishment?

His TPA lobbying was quintessential establishment. His yay vote on Corker. His deep ties to the Bush family. I’ll give you an example of the Bush ties on a personal note - every time he’s in Sugarland TX asking for campaign money, where does he meet with potential donors? GHW Bush’s golf course. Jeb must be really pissed...

Notice the establishment does nothing to him, while spending tens of millions against Trump? The media bashing is against who again? Your darlings at NRO - what have they done for us since Reagan?

Red State is at it again. What should he say? That he is not going to deal and just dictate or sit in deadlock. The point is that dealing isn’t bad if you get your way. This is what the simple minded fools either don’t recognize or do not want you to recognize. Trump wins when he deals unlike the sorry bunch now up on the Hill who are either not capable of hard nosed dealing or too lazy to put up the effort.

If we don’t stop illegals there won’t be a court to appoint. Bu I am ver confident Ted Cruz is his first USSC appointment.

I don’t care if Trump is a Democrat, as long as he closes the freaking border and blocks the importation of muslims, then he is my man. The purists will be the death or defeat of us all.
Again. This assumes that the Donald is going to follow through. Based on his history, that requires a YUGE leap of faith.

You’ve all been had, and Trump is daring you to notice.
.......................................................
BULL! We Trump supporters are not Taliban style purists who will sink the ship rather than take on a capable captain to keep us off the rocks. We believe in reality and the world we live in. According to you, St. Michael couldn’t get to heaven.I agree with Trump. We are going to have to negotiate better deals and that means we have to be realistic. Trump is telling the truth. You Cruz people prefer to be lied to.

Not sure what Ted Cruz has to do with the point of the thread. Lets stick to that Donald Trump said.

You have a guy that has campaigned on being a wrecking ball to the establishment now softening his stance. Thats a problem. Thats what we bitch about.

So why is it that now being sorta establishment is great? If you guys are good with the establishment, say so.

I agree. Just about everything else in this country is dependent on the points you made. The invaders WILL destroy this country. Meanwhile, the politicians will have their thumbs up their ass wondering why 500 schools have been shot up, highway snipers taking out gasoline trucks, reservoirs poisoned, forests burned down, electrical power stations shot out... Panic will be epidemic. Commerce will stop. Food shortages. Riots.

Here's what we're dealing with in Washington, DC:

People need to wake up and THINK.

And that “one” has yet to do anything other than argue case. Can’t build a coalition, could only get ONE guy to follow hi,m. So, yeah, I believe Trump far more than Cruz. And the votes Ted did cast were for the wrong things ( Corker, TPP).

Yeah and that “other one” you’re talking about believes in making the 11,000,000 illegals legal and NOT deporting them.AND he thinks the wall is too expensive, but he votes for whatever Obama wants in the billions and trillions without flinching.

Your argument has a serious lack of situational awareness. And your search for (your definition of) perfection is futile. There is no - and never will be - a utopia.

You obfuscate as efficiently as your candidate. No wonder you’re so enthralled with him.

I don’t recall the word discussion meaning that only your points are valid.

The thread is about Donald Trump easing into the establishment. If you can’t stay on that without diverting the issue, thats your call.

You have yet to address a single point made. Will you do that or should we just stop now?
