Can you explain how limited the government was during WWII?

We now face a war against an insidious, crafty, stealthy, and heretofore successful enemy in the Muslim Brotherhood/ISIS/AQ etc...’

The “limited government” argument just doesn’t carry the weight it once did. We are at war and LOSING.

We need to win the war before we get back to debating the finer points of political theory.

Truly idiotic arguments these people put out. Totally open borders and a State Department run by our enemies. And these ‘conservatives’ are worried about the Dept. of Agriculture.

Childish and out of touch.

Cut the Federal government to the essential functions outlined in the constitution.

Look at the Tenth Amendment, it expresses the principle of federalism, which strictly supports the entire plan of the original Constitution of the United States of America, by stating that the federal government possesses only those powers delegated to it by the United States Constitution. All remaining powers are reserved for the states or the people.

Now let’s ask ourselves, how much of what the Federal Government is doing is BEYOND the express powers reserved for it in the constitution?

Energy? Education? etc.

You just mentioned DEFENSE. Now THAT is ONE POWER explicitly given to the Federal government.

“We are at war and LOSING.”

The first front is not Militant Islam. The first front in the war we are losing is fighting and defeating the GOP and Democrats. They need to be destroyed as a political force. THEN we need to fight the bureaucracy.

THEN we can get on with fighting the war against terror/militant islam.

Wars are fought between countries. The enemy we face has no country, it spreads by infecting and metastasizing governments. If you don't believe me, look at what's happening in Europe. An omnipotent centralized government is not a defense, it's an attack vector.

"We are at war and LOSING"

Losing ? We're not even fighting, we're inviting the foreign born murderers in and even giving them government jobs while millions who were born in the US are unemployed.

We're neck deep in "Conservative" Congress critters and all they've done is piss down our backs and tell us it's raining.

I think a little proportion is lacking here. I mean we suffered more casualties in one day in Dec 1944, than we have in all 15 years of this conflict. The War on Terror is more Philippine Insurrection than World War 2. I do not remember Mckinley taking over the entire economy to fight that one.

You are correct sir! In war there is no substitute for victory.
