Agree it is not a well written story. But there have been several instances in the last decade of Muslim commerical airline pilots going off the deep end.
Several months ago there was a poster on FreeRepublic whose husband was a pilot for a commercial airline here in America. He had a muslim, middle eastern first officer who seemed to be anti American, if I’m remembering correctly, and badmouthed America to the extent that the captain refused to leave the cockpit with him in control.
