“There’s a reason why Bauer, James Dobson, Bob Vander Plaats, and a host of other largely Protestant conservative leaders have endorsed Cruz: he’s the Biblical choice for president. “
There is no “Biblical choice for President.”
This is why the majority of evangelicals are favoring Trump.
“Men of truth”???
What about that ad saying Trump bulldozed a little old lady’s house? What about voting for the Corker bill, and then campaigning against it?
Why does anyone vote for or even put up with the nomination of politicians who don't even acknowledge the absolute basic level of moral decency???
Unfortunately all these other groups have been simply voting for people to clean the streets and keep the sewers running (and give them government money). They live in sequestered quasi-theocratic ethnic ghettos and get along famously with the most radical and immoralist politicians. They don't understand that not everyone has a ghetto to hide in and some of us can't afford to vote simply to keep the streets clean. If we vote for the wrong person, they come after us.
Everyone else still thinks rednecks are paranoid and want to "hang" everyone else "from lampposts." They've been told any concern for moral character in politicians is just an excuse for nativist redneck supremacy. One day those groups will find their good friends the atheist politicians invading their little ghettos and coming for them as well. Of course, by that time us rednecks will probably have been dealt with, to no one's objection.
What was it Pastor Niemoller said?
With all respect...not a chance.
Cruz might win WY, TX, TN but that is about it.
Most polls say Cruz is -4 in Texas
More “if you’re a true X you’ll vote like I tell you to” nonsense.
Excellent article Michael!
And you are absolutely correct!
Christians should not be supporting a candidate that is Pro-Abortion like Donald Trump is.
We are NOT a theocracy.
I voted for Jimmy Carter because I took my religion seriously. Learned my lesson.
Tuning out the “evangelical” leadership this go round. FWIW, the guy from AR is a former SBC pastor! Why are the evangelicals not voting for one of their own “ordained” leaders?
Hate to break it to you.
There will be plenty of Christians voting for Trump.
They can see what shape this nation is in, and they know we need a strong-man to get things back on track.
He’s going rope and hog-tie the Left on Capital Hill.
It’s way beyond time for that.

Evangelicals not being the sharpest tool in the shed, tend to be purists, and they will ride Ted Cruz while he goes down to defeat. I repeat, Ted Cruz cannot and will not be elected. You only have two choices: Trump or a Democrat.
Ted Cruz is the Mary Poppins of Conservatism. He's practically perfect in every way. If we reject Conservatism now, it's midnight in America. The patient is terminal. It's never going to happen.
