Exclusive - Jeff Sessions: 'Clarity of Donald Trump’s Position' on Trade Is 'Right'(tr)
Breitbart ^ | January 25, 2016 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 01/25/2016 4:26:05 PM PST by monkapotamus

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), the intellectual leader of the modern conservative movement and the catalyst behind much of the rise of nationalist populism in this election cycle, told Breitbart News exclusively that he thinks there's much about 2016 GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump for voters to like when it comes to the issue of trade negotiations...

Sessions, who is standing up for American workers on this issue, told Breitbart News that the reason nobody on Capitol Hill or in the political class - save for Trump - really seems to be fighting this is "complicated," because the polling data so clearly shows Americans are widely opposed to these types of trade deals...

Ronald Reagan, in implementing his policies, was a protectionist. That is how he got the economy going.

“Who around this joint thinks Trump and his 45% tariff on Chinese goods are a good idea?”

Trump says that the New York Times says he said that.

It just might catch on. Couldn’t be a better choice. Sessions is definitely not a “politician” but IS a man of principle.

Why not? I happen to believe experience trumps youth and inexperience any day of the week. Didn’t somebody else say that? We are at the critical time in the existence of America and two wise heads, one handling the economy, illegal immigration, and international affairs and the other with the knowledge of the ins and outs of the political arena would be a sure fire winner for America. Can’t think of a better Combo!
I fact I love the idea!

You must not when it comes to big money, especially big political money.

China could dump 1 trillion $ worth of US bonds on the world market, collapsing the dollar.

In addition, China has hundreds of billions worth of US corporations assets which the could nationalize overnight, breaking the back of hundreds of US companies.

You ready for Great Depression II?

I don’t call it crap and China has some big hurts too....and a heck of a lot more people than we do to keep happy, now that they’ve tasted the good life. The use of a tariff by someone the Chinese knows would use it, is an enormous bargaining tool. Once they got a taste of it they wouldn’t be so arrogant. Deal from a position of strength, not weakness like Obama has been doing.

You do know that less than 30% of the Cinese live the good life don’t you?

Trump can’t do this and he damn well knows it. He is just making campaign promises he cannot ever complete.

But Trump has said he’s for fair free trade.
....................................................
That is exactly what we are talking about. Fair Free Trade is leveling the playing field so that the ILLEGAL acts of certain countries do not go unpunished. America has been timidly “threatening” China for years, yet China has continued to beat our head in on trade and we have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it except continue being taken to the cleaners. Trump is talking about forcing our trading partners to toe the line and trade fairly, not pull such tricks as devaluing their currency which makes our products too costly and we can’t compete. Just go to WallMart and look on the products for the country of origin. How many made in America labels do you find? Almost ZERO!

Never happen captain! Not on Trump’s watch, sir. China is in a very precarious position. Their greed is choking them right now.

You must really be miserable to be such a pessimist. Did you ever hear of Americans as the “CAN DO” people?

China has enormous interior problems right now. The “Haves” don’t want to lose what they’ve acquired and the “Have Nots” are waking up to Mao’s big lie. They are even sabre rattling to scare the puny ant in the white house.
I happen to believe Trump will straighten out our trade problems and regain some of the respect internationally America has lost. When you need a plumber, you don’t call the shoemaker. It’s all about the right man for the job. At this time in our history Trump is the right man for our most critical job. the rest can wait.

The communist in charge do not care and the have the guns. The Chinese will play the long game as the have done in war for thousands of years. Even if the had to take a black eye temporarily, if they could decimate an enemy for ten years with a depression they would do it. 70% of their population have lived on rice, fish and bamboo shoots for hundreds of years so a few years for them is worth eliminating the US dollar as the reserve currency.

I will guarantee you he will not do that, he will never deport 12 million mexicans, he will never build a wall and no, Mexico is not going to pay for it. Those are all lies and he knows it.
