Unless you're a true operator, if you're engaged every day in gunplay that requires 100 rounds, you won't live a year. If things get ugly and you need 100 rounds a day for self-defense, I'd agree. If you have spare time to fire 100 rounds a day while things are pleasant, that's entirely reasonable as a hobby and/or to develop skill (or that's what I keep telling my wife). Disclaimer: I'm a few days behind on shooting, since I've taken up using a snow shovel for exercise this week.
