Trump continues to attack and defend all in the same move.

This move is peremptory. It challenges Fox and sets them up because there is no move Fox can do that can recapture the high ground .. unless somebody comes up with an out of the box solution.

On the defensive end, it blocks Megyn Kelly from interacting with Trump during the debate. You bet Megyn and perhaps the other moderators are going to be off their game as Fox has been knocked out of it s operational loop. with little to no time to adjust.

Long range effect — as always it s too intimidate the media and Trump has been mastering that for months now. You bet that during the subsequent debates — including the Presidential debates

What to expect? I believe Megyn will host and Trump will show. Megyn however might not have interaction with Trump, and the questions that Trump (and as a consequence the other candidates) will be all substance with little controversial questions. No more tangential attacks through carefully rigged questions.

Worst come to worst, should they try to trip Trump up, he’ll simply walk off the stage and his poll numbers will go up yet again.

He plays a mean game of poker. He’s a genius strategist and surrounded by genius strategists that are okay with not being in the limelight.

I can’t think of a candidate in my life time that has wielded so much influence during the nomination process.

Yes, but he must abide by the debating rules and stick with the issues.

I would really like to know what he thinks of the Constitution and prove his knowledge of it.

Why? Because the role of the president is as the grand protector of the Constitution.

Our Founders spent more time devising the office of the presidency than any other branch. That role is the capstone of the Constitution.

Is he willing to protect and defend it for us?

This is one tactic which pushes me away from Trump when deciding who I will vote for in the primary.

My answer would be what does Trump think he should do? Make a decision, explain it and then stick with it and then live with the opinions of voters.

This is more like mob rule. Either that or manipulating his supporters into a frenzy. Don’t like mob rule. Don’t like being manipulated.

After 11,741 votes seems to be stabilizing at 52% Yes, 48% No. I think he will cite the poll and do the debate.

Trump could go and ‘lay low’ during the debates... He doesn’t have to score points... just needs NOT to be damaged.

Also, he needs to remember they’ve probably stacked the room against him so when he answers he needs to remember us... the people out there on the other side of the TV screen who believe in him.

They will use his family against him - and anything he holds dear - to get him to ‘lose it’... he’s got to smile and let it wash over him..

Then - know that the final decision is his... if he doesn’t go they’ll pummel him about not being strong enough to stand up to Putin... if he does go he’ll be attacked in more ‘scientific’ ways.

Trump can do it if he knows he doesn’t have to ‘score’ he just needs to be able to walk away without great damage. That means NOT reacting when they get under his skin. He’ll be attack on things he cares about - things he takes pride in... things he KNOWS he’s good at.... He must NOT take the bait. And while he’s standing there taking it he needs to think of us - Americans who need him to make better deals, secure the borders... protect us...

Trump can’t look for a ‘win’ in this one - he just needs to get to the other side...

That said, Trump needs to trust his instincts... I have faith in him.

Yes, attend the debate.

Someone start a Twitter feed about how bias the debate is....during the debate. Maybe they will be fair and balanced if we can actually react ‘live’ to what’s going on during the debate. Just a thought.

I would be surprised if Kelly doesn't hold back on the gotcha questions and quotes out of context.

Actually I think I heard her say this is the last opportunity to affect change in the election outcome.

I've been for Cruz first all along. But he's missing the boat. Trump has outflanked him, has him confused, has him rattled and now Cruz is falling into the same trap as Bush, Carson, Fiorina and all the others who attacked him and lost.

Personal attack mode against the populist favorite and national leader buys you no points whatsoever. Cruz should ignore Trump and stay on HIS OWN message! And make it bolder!

And stay the hell away from Beck, Lowry and the National RINO Review and the Gang of 22 GOP losers. The last thing Cruz needs is to team up with DC insiders!

Trump is running and winning with his anti-GOP, anti-insider, anti-establishment, anti-DC, anti-PC, anti-illegal-alien, anti-Muslim-invasion, and anti-business-as-usual platform.

He's pushing and winning with his bold secure the borders, secure the nation, deport them all, ban the Muslims, send them back, restore our religious freedom, defend our guns, defend our local education, cut the taxes, cut the regulations, cut the EPA, cut the bad deals, cut the crap, grow the economy, bring back capital and jobs, bring back manufacturing, rebuild our powerful military and make America great again message.

It's what the PEOPLE want and are hungry for. They want strong, successful, positive, bold and unabashedly pro-America, pro-capitalism leadership! A winner!

It's about the people, stupid!

Plus no matter what happens during the debate he comes out with something new the next day for the media to obsess over.

I personally think he lost every debate, so why is he leading every poll?

You mean comment on the debate on Twitter while the debate is happening? Is that even possible?

What a great idea. Groundbreaking!

More recently than that Jim Robinson has said that he is voting for ... CRUZ in the primary.

You are scared of real men like Trump, aren't you? And you are turned off by beautiful women like Mrs. Trump.

Everyone knows MeGyn slept her way to the position she's in via a long(-enough) affair with Brit Hume, while Brit was married. Without her casting couch volunteering, she'd be doing human interest stories on a local TV station in a market with a MSA pop of ~5,000 people.

The question is, who's she sleeping with now?

I would really like to know what he thinks of the Constitution and prove his knowledge of it.

Why does he need to know? The Speaker of The House surely does not know what is in the Constitution, nor do most of the members. Remember when the GOP took back the House and they were going to require all new member to attend a class on the Constitution? Remember they also were going to require that all new revenue bills had to include the Constitutional Authority for any request for money?

Remember also when Paul Ryan declared it would be Unconstitutional for the US to bar Muslim immigrants, when in fact Congress had passed a law that not only allowed that but required that religion, race and origin be included in refugee status consideration.

Congress and the Senate pass multi thousand page bills on a regular basis that no one has read. Why would one be surprised that they know very little of the Constitution or the restrictions it places on them.

I am not Twitter savvy but I think someone sets up an account and then comes on here and tells us what it is and we follow it? There’s a main person with the account that tweets and followers can respond, re-tweet or simply read.

There are a lot of very smart people on here....I’m sure someone can figure something out.

The Presidency is not like any other position. Our Founders did create something that was designed to keep the executive from becoming a tyrant. They tied the office to the people directly. James Wilson argued in favor of the all the people voting for him directly and not having the Congress do it as in committee, therefore we all have a stake in his success.

The president is the only person that the entire country votes for. He has a special role in that we have in our great Charter the means by which we are ruled for our own individual interests, not as a conglomeration. That is why when Ronald Reagan spoke to us over the heads of Congress, he was actually doing his God-given role as the American people's leader.

What our Founders feared was to have the voice of the people stepped on and the connection between the people and the president breached. Obama has abused his role terribly.

Whoever becomes president must realize the unique and special role. This role cannot be faked because the people will always know when they are being hood-winked and bought off.

When we are given the chance to vote for someone like Ronald Reagan we will always vote accordingly as we gave him a landslide. Twice.

Some tend to think that Reagan was just a smooth-talker, a great actor. But he understood his special role as president more than anyone since Lincoln and Coolidge.

So, it doesn't matter what the Speaker of the House knows or doesn't know about the Constitution. It would be great if they all took the time to study it correctly. But if we have the president, the Capstone of the Constitution, understand it then we will fare well as a people.

And Trump has had 3 wives, a fact as is as relevant to the the discussion as you asking who’s she sleeping with now?

Neither point relevant. Who cares?
