The title’s meme is: Reagan did it (and he won), so Trump can do it, and win.
No one is going to read the article itself.
There are two kinds of people - people who are interested in relevant facts and people who are not. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Reagan saw his Iowa loss as a kick in the pants and never missed another debate. Maybe Trump will win IA, never participate in another debate and run the table. Or maybe he won't. We'll see soon enough. But to say Reagan skipped the IA debate and went on to win is to miss important details.
