It has been announced that white, British actor Joseph Fiennes, the younger brother of Ralph Fiennes (and just as white), has been cast to play Michael Jackson in an upcoming British television comedy.
This news comes at a very precarious time for American film, a time when black actors in Hollywood are complaining that they aren't being recognized for their roles as they should. It also comes at a time when some black conservatives are calling out Black History Month and BET as examples of racist double standards.

There was a rumor once that Michael Jackson wanted a white child to portray him in a Pepsi commercial - later he denied this to Oprah Winfrey.
Considering MJ’s efforts in the last two decades of his life he would have been over the moon.
I’m guess the same people outraged by this are the same ones demanding that the next James Bond should be a black actor.

Maybe they should have cast a white woman to play OJ Simpson in the docu-drama “The People vs. OJ Simpson”. That would have made the BLM movement implode.

Of course, when a white character is portrayed by a black actor (Perry White, 'James' Olsen, Wally West, Nick Fury, on and on); it's all good. If you object, you're a racist.

On the TV series, Once Upon A Time, Merlin and Lancelot are black.
He spent most of his later years tying to get white anyway.

He is playing the adult version of Michael Jackson, after he became white. If the movie was about Michael Jackson as a child then they would need a black actor.
