A network of political groups from across the Northwest issued a call Thursday morning for supporters to flood into Burns.
The request for help came on the heels of the Wednesday night arrest of Jason Patrick, a Georgia roofer who had emerged as a leader among the remaining occupiers to Malheur National Wildlife Refuge after the takeover's key planners including Ammon Bundy and Ryan Payne, were taken into law-enforcement custody.
Bundy, Payne and several others were arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop in which occupation spokesman Robert "LaVoy" Finicum was killed. The deadly confrontation happened as Bundy and the others were on their way to John Day, about 70 miles from Burns, for a community meeting.
Several other people linked to the occupation have since been taken into custody at other locations.
Only a handful of occupiers remained at the bird sanctuary Thursday morning when the Pacific Patriot Network issued its call for support.
The group's members had helped persuade Patrick to leave the refuge, said Joseph Rice, a founding member from Grants Pass.
The FBI had assured them Patrick would be given safe passage out of the area, Rice said Wednesday night.
He described the FBI taking Patrick into custody at a nearby checkpoint as a betrayal.
On Thursday morning, BJ Soper, a founding member of the groiup from Redmond, echoed the sentiment on Facebook and called for a dramatic response.
"The events of the last few days in Burns have culminated into a lot of massive frustration and anger," Soper wrote......

From what I understand the people they supposedly came to help didn’t want their help.
Imagine some group of lunatics that went and took over your cities town hall in protest of you getting a speeding ticket, and even after you asked them to go away, they stayed there and eventually got someone killed.
Either they did, or they didn't.
eartick, I've been stomping the bootlickers on other threads.
I invented a new term:
So, if I ambush and murder someone, I get to blame THEM for someone who got killed?
They wanted to arrest Finicum for obstruction of police machinegun bullets, but he was dead...
What privately owned ranges were taken over by the wildlife refuge, and when?
Comparing a vacant building miles out in the woods to a town hall is ridiculous.
You've got to be kidding me.
Are you serious? Or is that a rhetorical question?

[[and now their actions have gotten someone killed.]]
Yep and women wearing tight T’Shirts are responsible for being raped too eh? Cripes!
Yes my question was why was McConnell not arrested?
No kidding. Those people are awful souls. They’re the kind of folks that used to stand on the side roads throwing rocks at the Jews as they were being hauled to the Warsaw Ghetto.
Filicum was not...
Shot in the leg, the arm, the foot.
He was not incapacitated or shot with rubber bullets.
They didn’t want Bundy to be a martyr.
So, they’ve made one. Shot in the face AND on the ground 3 times.
HOW BRAVE.
They took 4 of his children previously/earlier in the event.
He also had a beef with the BLM.
Bundy has said that overall, +/-100 ranches have been seized by the BLM out there.
The Hammonds were the last man standing.
Uranium....natgas...other minerals...Clinton Foundation...Agenda 21.
The US would not KILL to acquire ranches. Right? /loathing.
OWS. No prob.
Space to destroy? No prob.
Burn this ‘B!tch’ down. No prob.
But....kill White cowboys, decrease the cattle herds, fence people into cities. Eliminate Patriots.
Wait. Corner. Kill. It’s the feral way.
Ping
Yeah.
Thanks
Bow to your overlords as you shuffle by.
Do not make eye contact.

I haven’t seen a good, complete story about the wildlife refuge and its status. Also, the same for the “fire” that someone set and reportedly “burned” federal land (whatever that means).
If the buildings were abandoned, then why? I would think that occupiers would initially only be charged with “trespass on federal property”, unless the refuge is open to all to visit.
Remember the Indian radicals occupation of the church building at Wounded Knee and the Bureau of Indian Affairs building in DC? Wounded Knee was supported by lots of liberals and Marxists though two FBI were shot and executed while on official duty (the Leonard Pelletier case).
The Left said that the FBI agents deserved what they got for trespassing on Indian land.
Marxists and related leftists have taken over the Statute of Liberty (Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Vietnam, a maoist faction), and the Left said it was justified.
New Black Panthers take over the sidewalk at a Philadelphia voting place, intimidating voters, and the Left says that this is okay.
Radicals “trespass” onto military bases and defense facilities and destroy weapons/equipment/documents, and the Left says that this is okay.
Radicals steal, by burglary, FBI documents from their office in Media, Pa. and the Left says that this is okay, but when the FBI infiltrated communist and other Left extremist groups, the Left says that this is NOT okay.
Somewhere along the way, the Left has said that their “trespassers” are legitimate protesters, but those on the right are “criminals”.
I think we need a better perspective on this issue.
Agree.
Interesting. Thanks for posting that link, Chunga85.
xzins, FYI.
