Do you teach a man to fish or just give him fish?

If you give a man a fish, you can feed him for a day.

If you teach a man how to fish, he will spend the rest of his life in a boat, drinking beer.

No of course not...that’s more in line with Trumps’s and Hillary’s almost 70 age group...which is of course why Trump for the most part just shows up at rallies after flying in and back home so he, like most seniors, can sleep in his own bed. The rigors of an actual grassroots ground campaign would zap Trump as we see with Hillary and even Bill......Heck I’d go so far at this point saying Trumps getting weary of running for President because he cannot hire someone else to do it for him.

He’s Mr. Twitter campaign guy so he can still stay in his slippers....

It would be interesting if FR had some easy way to count the number of unique posters participating in a thread. It might be interesting, in either direction.

Run a simple web server app on your computer.

Make a post on the thread you want to watch that has a small graphic that is served from your computer.

Look at the server log and count the number of unique IP addresses that pulled down the graphic.

Easy peeasy :-)

Doing the same over on DU could tell you much about the people that post at that cesspool.

The Faux news “debate” reminded me of little dogs fighting over scraps after the big dog had eaten its share and left.

It looks like the debate thread on FR for the January FoxBiz debate had 3,800 posts by this same time. So this debate appears to have been viewed by a little less than half as many FR readers as the last one.

I think Fiorina did have the best performance between both debates. Never liked her much before but she was in command this time.

All of the questions in both debates were pretty bad though. Almost no interesting topics were raised and things were often framed in stupid ways.

Here's the thing, the goal is keeping Hillary's collectivist hide out of the Whitehouse. Cruz is right on point, but comes across as a lawyer. The Rep.'s opponent is never the Dem., it's the biased media. Trumps has already slapped them silly and keeps going up in the polls. Real question is who does the media want Hillary to run against. It seems obvious, anybody but Trump. So kids VOTE TRUMP

Yuppo! That is a very clear explanation of the obvious facts :-)

-------------

I want a Trump/Cruz ticket!

America needs the changes that a Cruz presidency would bring.

I think his ONLY chance of ever becoming president is to serve as Trump's VP.

If the only thing Trump accomplished as president was to create a path that allowed Cruz to someday become president his term in office would be wildly successful...IMO.

“Trump supporters are in love.”

Well, I wasn’t, but I am now!

Did you see what he did tonight?

He handed the mic to a one-legged veteran, then sat with the audience and allowed the vets to have the stage. He *honestly* made this into a rally for the veterans. It wasn’t the ‘Trump Show’.

He was kind and he proved himself a true gentleman.

Yeah! I’d say that, at this point, he’s family! lol!

(And Huck and Rick were fantastic, too! They proved themselves to be true gentlemen who can set aside their differences for a common good.)

What a lovely night!

I am surprised at the number of people that didn’t get Cruz’s joke about leaving. He told the other straight faced joke that got lots of laughs. Bush told a straight faced joke about Trump (being a teddy bear) that got laughs. Cruz’s timing/delivery didn’t work on that one. Minor.

The usual suspects are saying Rubio shined. They saw something I didn’t see. I like Rubio less and less every time I hear him speak. He is rude and dishonest. No thanks.

Jeb was less awful than usual even though I disagreed with much of what he said. To some that makes him a winner. Lover is blind.

This time no one is saying anything about Kasich. That’s good. Carson deserves more credit than he is getting. He did fine though he didn’t seem to get many questions.

I would love to see a pieced together segment of all those “tell me why Cruz is a bum...” questions. Cruz was right about that.

Oh, Heavens. Trump has gone completely over your head. Can the all-knowing caww figure it out?

BTW, I say this as someone who, at least at present, finds Cruz and Trump equally attractive (though for different reasons) and equally annoying (also for different reasons.)

I am under no illusions. We have mediocre candidates - they just happen to be preferable (to one degree or another) to the Dems, in terms of most of their positions. None can match Hillary’s evil or Bernie’s whacko, either.

Huckabee particularly. Huckabee has had some smart comments and some of the more profound during the debates ... a fact largely overlooked.

Trump should have thought about covering the sign on the podium though.

Carly Fiorina, bet she wish she showed up.

‘Fox kept that fat Muslim chick in there, but instead of attacking Trump they had to use her to lob a softball at
Jeb. She complained of backlash against Muslims, and Jeb launched into a whine about Trump. Odd and forced. Jeb is a dunce.’ — over3Owithabrain

There you have it. Sounds to me that Trump did indeed win the debate! Apparently Jeb accidently gave him the ultimate endorsement.

[Contented grin.]

‘... We have mediocre candidates ...’

Wow. The most exciting primary in the history of our nation. Trump devastating Hillary with a few tweets. Low-info patriots flocking to see him.

‘Mediocre.’

Hey that’s fine. I believe Trump wants unfair criticism from conservatives. He gave us assurances and now his low-key assurances to us are getting buried by fear-mongering, hysteria, and name-calling.

That way — he’s anti-establishment no matter how you look at it. Many conservatives, however, will lose their seat at the table when he’s elected.

That makes a lot of sense, as FR seems to be more or less evenly divided between all non-Trump candidates, at this point, and Trump.

The thing is, Trump appeals to many more non-Freeper types than Cruz does, from what I can tell. IF he (Trump) can get those folks out to caucus...
