Ah, let me be clear, I did not say mediocre campaigners. Nor did I say mediocre persons.

Ben Carson is a tremendous quality person. So is my Pastor. But I’d want neither as President (except maybe as an alternative to Hillary or Bernie!)

Trump comes out anti-GOPe and strong on immigration: His policy paper on immigration is mostly quite good. But, where are the words “freedom”, “constitution”, and so on, when he talks (or puts out position papers)? I sometimes almost feel like Worf in Star Trek when he says to Korris (a renegade Klingon wanting to relive past glories) “Where are the words duty, honor, and loyalty, without which a warrior is NOTHING.” Beyond all that... Trump has me cheering one minute, face palming the next.

Then we have Cruz: He has a mostly good history of conservatism, is good on many (but not all issues), knows his Constitution and is a good debater (in content, anyway.) However, he often comes off as harsh and unlikable, and, can he attract anyone besides hardcore conservatives? I’m not asking him to compromise principles, but he seems to have little of the Reagan capacity to make conservatism attractive to more people.

Fiorina can take apart Hillary like no one’s tomorrow, but there’s her past at HP, and inability to get traction as well.

And so on.

You say: “Many conservatives, however, will lose their seat at the table when he’s (Trump) elected.” To be replaced by...???

If Trump or Cruz wins the nomination — seems likely at this point — there’s no question I’d vote for either of them, short of Zell Miller (assuming he’s not gone senile) appearing out of the blue. But Cruz and Trump are both rolls of the dice: If she makes it to the general election, Hillary’s probably surmounted her legal problems, and would likely beat Cruz. Trump can beat Hillary, but, can he govern without a like minded Congress? Will he zig, or zag? And how will he deal with the bureaucracy?

‘If she makes it to the general election, Hillary’s probably surmounted her legal problems ...’

The Clintons never completely shook off their now-ancient history of crimes. They spun them. Burned buildings full of evidence. People conveniently died to keep them out of trouble. They blackmailed countless politicians.

Cruz promised to investigate her. To him Clinton scandals are fair game. Trump also made it clear they are fair game. We saw what happened to Hillary when Trump hit back. They were never strong and NEVER will be strong. Just a lot of teeth, the same as Trump.

If Rubio or someone else rides the fumes of her downfall, that advantage might be lost after the primary.

Courage is the best way to defeat democrats. Trump proved it.

So I hope she wins the primary. Not that Sanders should be hard to beat. But just less opposition research on him. She will expose so much DNC corruption it will make the Federalists’ Sedition Acts look like a cub scout outing.
