The video quality makes this uncertain, but, the talker at the video posted at #67 above claims that the back window of the SUV is shot out at 7:08, while Lavoy still has his hands up.

One thing is for sure, the statement that Lavoy was shot while “on his knees” is BS, as is the statement that Lavoy “charged” at an officer. Both sides are lying, or at least badly exaggerating. The protesters’ version is at least understandable, esp. if they were ducking gunshots. The FBI, not so much, as they’re the professionals.
Did the LEO’s entice Lavoy into reaching for a weapon, or was he simply confused by continued gunshots? I don’t know...
On the ground audio that could be sync’d to the video would help.

What startles me is the release of the video under the cover of the major news events in Iowa surrounding the election.
This was a dump under the cover of other events drawing the media’s attention. This is something that government and politicians specialize in. Releasing controversial things under the cover of weekends, holidays or other major news events.
I think it was also done under public pressure, though.
Another matter that concerns people should be the release of Mr. Finicum’s body to his family for burial.
yes. my take was that he was in the clear and in the open (not taking cover to protect himself from overwelming force) and not a physical threat unless he was drawing his gun. so for the fbi’s sake, i hope they have iron clad proof he was drawing a gun. no doubt it was very quick. hope there’s a dashcam with sound or something. after having his hands up, it looks like he moved his hands rapidly for some reason (balance, shot at, obeying a command, trying to talk, trying to reach for a weapon, etc.). a blink after that he was down.
So they had at least one armed law enforcement waiting in the trees - seems like it was pretty well thought out, knowing the car would run off the road right there - and having someone waiting in the treeline.
I seriously doubt that. Assuming they are following standard procedures they instruct him to put his hands on his head and interlock his fingers, then to get on his knees. And perhaps then to lie down.
I'm sure there are some LEOs who can verify this, but I have watched a lot of arrest videos on COPS and it's almost always done the same way. The whole goal it for the police to be able to continually see the hands of the person they are arresting.
The claim of Victoria is that the police shot at them when the vehicle was stopped the first time.
Exactly the video corroborates Victoria’s story. He wasn’t going for his gun, he was shot and the involuntary reaction of reaching for the source of pain is what we are seeing.
McConnell was no where near the second vehicle even before they took off. He said he could hear them arguing. Totally implausible. I discount everything he said, but am impressed that he had a story ready to go on YouTube so soon.
I do wonder if he was a Fed plant. His Facebook Page is odd.

This may shock you, but it’s illegal to conduct an armed occupation of public property or any property to which you do not have legal control/right. It’s illegal to use vehicles that do not belong to you without the consent of the owner. It’s illegal to put your cows on the property of another without permission or compensation. It’s illegal to stay somewhere when you have received a lawful order to leave from the county, state, and federal government. It’s illegal to run from the police in a vehicle.
This has never been a 2nd Amendment issue or an issue of open carry.
