"Principled!"

FR THREAD: Megyn Kelly to Ted Cruz: "The record supports you."

.....Their interview ended this way:

Megyn Kelly: "The record supports you." [Cruz: "Anyone here illegally is permanently ineligible for citizenship."]

"It was a poison pill."

"You do have a consistent record on that; I will give you that; we did look back on it."

I understand folks are desperate for a Conservative POTUS to repair all the damage inflicted by Barry Soetoro.
But the ends never justify the means.
Cruz has proffered one piece of ID, a Canada birth certificate, to support his claim to US Citizenship(???)
Really!
Have we seen any US documents concerning Cruz? Why is no one pressing the question?

Would folks be okay if a Saudi Prince launched a run for POTUS, and just laughed off speculation he was not a US Natural Born Citizen?

Cruz’s problem is no one likes him. Except for the evangelicals. If he was running for Preacher he would be a lock in. As president....he got nothing

Interesting case. I like how it just accepts as fact that Ted isn’t a likable guy, LOL. His personality does rub me the wrong way a lot of the time. I’ll still vote for him in the general, though.

I think this author (as well as some others) gets one assumption wrong. The personal dislike of Cruz isn’t because he’s not “the guy you want to have a beer with”. After all, Ronald Reagan wasn’t a guy you’d want to have a beer with, but everyone loved him.

No, with Ted, I think his demeanor can be boiled down to one word: smarmy.

A secondary trait I’m not a fan of, is that he seems to be completely humorless, by any normal standard. Much like Yeb! or Mitt Romney, when Cruz is telling a joke, he’s just mouthing some words that his instincts (or focus groups) tell him should be a good approximation of what “the normal people” would find funny. It almost never works. On the flipside, there are guys like Trump and Christie, or Reagan or Gingrich in the past, who can just pop stuff off on the spot with no rehearsal and get a good laugh out of the room.

When Trump beats Cruz in Iowa it will be the end of the road for Cruz’s presidential campaign. Good.

I like Cruz. To beat the Dems in November, though, we need a charismatic fighter, somebody who can get the base enthused enough to SHOW UP and VOTE in November. Currently, that seems to be Trump.

Super Tuesday is in less than four weeks. I expect that, if there is a clear winner there, the winner WILL be the nominee.

In high school, he could've been voted most likely to be seen walking on the beach in his dress shoes...

LOL! That can't be the same Ted Cruz who got busted for having a case beer in his car!

Ephesians 6
5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ;
6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,
8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

Prayers and votes for Cruz, the faithful slave of Jesus Christ.

Romans 9:16
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Unless his likeability impacts on an action or comment as part of the campaign, then I agree it’s not fair game.

For example, a candidate with big ears who is otherwise perfect should not have big ears become an issue unless somehow (impossible, I’d think) his ears are part of an attack.

Dumbo’s the only one I can think of who could pull that off.

Yep. It’s all about character. Those who think a narcissist like Trump will act in a principled way and not be swayed by the ego-baiting government and media establishment are fooling themselves. But the polls indicate we’re getting rid of one unprincipled, self-absorbed bombastic leftist fool of a POTUS only to put another in his place.

I attribute all this Cruz birthering crap to be just put forth by folks that have their own candidate. A candidate that has a knack for putting out a pack of matches, and let others light them and run with them, as opposed to debating the issues.

From the Gov's definition:

3. Child of U.S. Citizen Parent and Foreign National Parent‹ [9]‹

A child born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions acquires citizenship at birth if at the time of birth:

One parent is a foreign national and the other parent is a U.S. citizen; and

The U.S. citizen parent was physically present in the United States for at least 5 years, including at least years after 14 years of age.

Cruz is the most conservative in the race. We've waited 30 years for someone this conservative to have a shot... we'll here he is, folks. Solid as a rock. Not only electable conservative, well versed in Constitution... but with 2016 having significant tailwinds, after 8 years of marxism.

Cruz Is Unlikable, But Principled

I'm an old bastard but I actually like Cruz, why is he "unlikable"? I like him enough to have donated hundreds of dollars to his campaign.

I also like Trump and love the way that he thumbs his nose at the media, and they continue to kiss his ass. If Trump wins Iowa, I think it's game, set, match, but if Cruz wins, he's still very much in the hunt.

I don't see how anyone but Cruz or Trump even come close to winning in Iowa, regardless of the BS about 30% of Iowans making up their mind 10 seconds before pulling the trigger.

Don’t Write Off Ted Cruz Because You Don’t Like Him

I'm not. I love Ted Cruz. I just don't think he can win and I know that Trump will. It's that simple.

Principled. Period. It’s not a popularity contest. We’ve tried that the past 7 years and it doesn’t work. Cruz doesn’t have Greek columns behind him or use a YUGE amount of adjectives when he speaks ....SO WHAT!? Can we please get past the superficial nonsense. I’ll vote for Trump if it comes down to that, because the left of the left cannot win.
