Nice, but the Senate is in the hands of some of the biggest Rat obstructionists there are.
That is so true and the reason why the drivers license issue is going no where too but it is a start
Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
Yup, sucks to live here. Weather is nice though...
The ‘cosaction’ website says that several states have already approved their ‘resolution’.
Any idea what their ‘resolution’ is?
I don’t see a link to it or its contents on their website.
Thing I would like to see the convention consider:
1) Require each state legislature be bi-cameral composed of an upper house of one senator representing each county within the state. The house composed of an equal number of representative apportioned by population. Vice or Lt Governor to serve as the tie breaking vote in a unicameral session.
2) Representative apportionment of taxes. Work out a per Senator and a per Representative value and then assess the spending for the year (budget) to the states based upon their combined total of Senators and Representatives. States can then figure out how to raise the taxes to meet their tax burden. Repeal the 16th amendment
3) Repeal the 17th amendment and make the Senators serve at the will of the State. Provide a means for the State voters to remove a sitting State Senator. Say 60% of a unicameral session (see #1)
4) Limit Federal control and management of the land area of any State to no more than 10%. Tribal lands would not count.
5) Require that all states maintain a separate voter roll for federal voting. That roll to be limited to US Citizens, proof of which is provided at time of registration to vote. And proof of identity provided at time of vote. Federal voting rolls to be purged of all voters 30 days after the newly elected President is sworn in to office.
Ratification of Article The First as the 28th amendment would immediately fix this. There are numerous very workable solutions for the immediate explosion of Congresscritters, so any argument to the contrary is specious.
Article V ping!
thanks!
Perhaps I did not make myself clear, this would be for the States not the Feds. It would in effect nullify a SCOTUS ruling that forces all state senators and representative be apportioned by population.
Thank you!
Good news! I’m going to have to check with my Idaho Representative and Senator again.
Yep, it was even semi comfortable in the East Mountains today setting up for tomorrow’s sporting clays shoot.
If so, here's a 2013 vanity on the subject.
Well... I really like the sound of #3..!
:)
Yes, exactly. I had forgotten the case name. Thanks for the reminder.
The resolution is a general convention, as opposed to a specific or single issue convention such as the Balanced Budget convention that 27 states have already passed.
