What seems to characterize the haters here on FR, people who slime either Trump or Cruz or any of the other Republican candidates, is their black-and-white, to-the-wall, outer-limits language:
All or nothing.
Perfect or evil.
Best or worst.
Wonderful or terrible.
Always or never.
There is no middle ground to the way they speak.
It turns others off who might listen to reason about a candidate, if they spoke in the language of reason. But they speak in a self-righteous language of moral condemnation, condemning not just the object of their absolutist opinion, but also those people who dare to hold a different point of view.
You can spot them by seeing those outer-limits words in their posts.
Possibly they have personal reasons for their rage. There can rarely be a candidate who pleases a vast majority, especially in a country that has been not only stirred into competing racial and economic groups, but that is also being invaded by force for political purposes. And no candidate should even try to please everyone.
But to give oneself over to loathing is a sign, to my mind, of a lack of belief that God, the only Absolute, is in charge, has conquered this world, and importantly, has their life in His hands. It’s the assurance of Salvation that calms the soul and removes fear and loathing.
I trust in God but I also loathe Trump.
How can it possibly be beyond reason to question the morality of Trump? Evidence ABOUNDS. You don't even have to dig for it. It's right there in his lifestyle, his business practices, and his general demeanor.
