They have a profile on every person that has liked a Cruz page on Facebook.
This is the application of big data. When the article states that it was narrow and targeted, my guess is that they cross referenced social media, especially facebook with the computerized voter records.
Those mailings would not be sent to everyone, too expensive and could resort in turning out the vote for your competitor.

I am so happy I unliked Ted after he voted for TPA. Evidently that was before the heavy data mining began. Because I never get any mailers. emails or calls from Team Cruz. I also avoid on line polls other click bait.
