“This is why he should have cleared it up when he had the chance. Now we are voting.”
Respectfully disagree. There are no respected legal authorities (Laurence Tribe aside) who think Cruz is ineligible. And now Donald is questioning his US citizenship. Please....give me a break. Get serious, Donald....you embarrass yourself.
If the statutes are ambiguous, it’s not Ted’s fault and he does not fall outside of any given ambiguity. Plus he’s a patriot. I love what Donald has done, but his natural born BS solidifies my support for Cruz.
We KNOW what Cruz will do and I don’t know what Donald will do with too many issues. I’d vote for him, but cross my fingers. Cruz will limit government. Donald COULD do the same, but I have no clue that he WANTS to limit government.....just make it better.
I say tear the whole damn thing down. Donald’s “better management” talk scares me. More big government.
Cruz ‘ bold ethanol stand vs. Donald’s speaks volumes and bolsters my earlier points
Actually Tribe has said that if litigated, he believes Cruz would be found eligible, but it is not "settled law" as Cruz has said. And there are plenty of respected legal authorities who state that Cruz is not eligible. The point is that it needs to be litigated.
Is Ted Cruz a 'natural born Citizen'? Not if you're a constitutional originalist.
Tribe--Under Ted Cruzâs own logic, heâs ineligible for the White House
If you recall, Tribe and Ted Olson were commissioned in 2008 by the Senate to determine if McCain was eligible to run. Based on the opinion, the Senate issued a non-binding resolution finding McCain eligible thru both jus solis and jus sanguinis. Tribe/Olson also gratuitously added a statement finding Obmama eligible because he was born in Hawaii.
Exactly what are the “respected legal authorities,” in the form of Supreme Court Opinions, that hold that Senator Cruz is eligible?
You are so right, chiller. It’s easy to say clear it up but impossible to do.
Trump has beaten the horse of Ted’s citizenship to the point that all his supporters seem to feel that if Ted is a NBC he should just prove it. How??
The statutes do not refer to presidential eligibility. If you want a Supreme Court definition, it's clearly stated in Minor and Happersett...just 100 years after the signing.
