There is no legitimate reason why DT should be so hated - except for his personal boorish behavior. In my opinion, he is right on many important issues.

He could change that impression if he wanted to. Just begin acting a bit like a gentleman again. Is that too much to ask?

The fact that 18 and 19 year olds have the worst voting records, is something to be thankful for, I think, don’t you?

I know people who hate the Bush’s, all of them.

I know people who hate Obama.

I know people who hate Hillary.

I know people who like Trump and people who have reservations about Trump. So far, I haven’t met anyone (except on FR) that admittedly hates Trump.

Of course there will always be people who like or dislike a candidate.

The question is this --- how large is the percentage of DISLIKE?

The national negative view of him is quite substantial...

According to Gallup just 2 days ago , 33% of Americans view Trump favorably and 60% unfavorably. That's higher than Hillary Clinton, who currently has a 52% unfavorable rating among all Americans.

RE: There is no legitimate reason why DT should be so hated - except for his personal boorish behavior.

You just scored the goal with the above statement.

Thomas Sowell himself made this observation:

... many people have been oblivious to this middle-aged man’s spoiled brat behavior, his childish boastfulness about things he says he is going to do, and his petulant response to every criticism with ad hominem replies.

He has boasted of someone observing that his followers would stick by him even if he committed murder. But is that something to boast about? Is it not an insult to his followers, if it is true? Moreover, his cockiness is misplaced, because he still does not have a majority among Republican voters, while you need a majority of all the voters to win any state in the general election.

Trump has a showman’s talent for telling people what they want to hear. But you can listen in vain for a coherent argument from him, based on facts and logic, much less an understanding of the inherent limitations of the office of president.

Being right on an issue ( and he isn’t even right on many of them ) does not make someone “like” you.

Here’s what I think is happening.... Trump has the talent of adhering to the principles of Marketing 101: Make a personal connection with the customer; convince him you are his friend; listen to his problems, offer a solution.

Most of his ardent supporters are concerned with just a few issues, and these are — immigration, jobs being outsourced overseas, and the losing of our culture.

All he has to do is HARP on the above issue and promise to fight for these concerns. Any other issues (e.g. eminent domain, universal healthcare, donating to democrats, etc. ) take a back seat.

We should remember that most of us who read such articles (as well as all of us who write them, in my case) are the people who are the most actively and constantly engaged in political warfare. Traveling in virtual circles of the politically oriented can trick us into thinking that we're pretty much like everyone else in the country, but the truth is that we're not.

The press says he's the least popular, but brands his politics "populist."

Oh. Kay.

Now that you mention it: YES.

So, if Trump (60% unfavorable) and Clinton (52% unfavorable)are the Nominees I guess whoever runs Third Party will win it then.

Heck, maybe even the Libertarian Candidate can pull it off.

BEST Election Season ever.

Bolsheviks for Bernie 2016!
