I think they realize that if Trump wins tonight, he's pretty much setup to run the table from here on out. They were really hoping that he would falter tonight so that they could spend the next week tearing him down and setting the stage for Rubio or some other GOPe RINO to come to the rescue.
So for all intents and purposes, this could well be the election.
